Helmets do not prevent accidents. Helmets do their purpose only when an accident happens and your head hits a hard surface.
The helmet law does not address the root cause of deaths on the road which is the lack of implementation of traffic regulations, road discipline, and plain ignorance of road courtesy.
The Helmet Law is just a band aid solution. Worse, people all get to thinking that as long as motorcycle riders are wearing helmets, everything is alright. Traffic rules such as speed limits, overloading, disregarding traffic signs, etc. continue to be disregarded. Sige lang, ga-helmet bitaw.
nagsugod jud ning problemaha sa equation nga:
4,500 x 5 family members = 22,500 petot![]()
ug nahanaw ang ts..unta ma-usab iyang huna2x na....
grabeha sa mga picture ninyo oi!! maka-turn off mag.motor..hahaha
That's true.
But the problem is the safety moralists focus too much with the band aid solution which is to slap helmets on everyone's heads. They tend to ignore the cause of accidents which are:
1. unqualified, uneducated, discourteous, undisciplined drivers and riders
2. wrong design of roads/bad roads/generally the state of our roads which is a danger in itself.
3. non-implementation of traffic rules and regulations, lack of enforcement.
As I said, the attitude has become: as long as every rider is wearing a helmet, ok lang, ga-helmet bitaw. og ma disgrasya, naay chance na buhi.
