Hi! I'm a MacBook PRO 2010 user. love macs. especially the design and interface.
finger gestures on a mac is really great. As they say, its like your fingers are having s** with the laptop

your'e right. but i still use a mac. for me its not just he hardware and osx, its something more. its hard to explain. its like why some people prefer linux to windows. for me, i just love it.

when you start owning and using a mac, its like your first puff of marlboro, first drink of alcohol or maybe first sniff of shabu, you know what im trying to say: maka addict. you'd wanna be all-apple. once you pop you cant stop.

I'm not anti-mac or a PC fanboi... I've used Mac for quite some time, my friend owns one and I had a chance to use it more often although I don't own it. It's cool and simple for some apps..

It's just that, I hate the principle behind that you can't fix it yourself...you have nowhere to turn to when it breaks down (and yes, there's viruses in mac too). You have to bring it to their service center and let them fix it for you (as stated on the previous posts).

On my own point of view, Mac is like a Mercedez-Benz car here in the philippines... It's classy, nice and cool. But you have to handle it with extreme caution for when it breaks down, there's no genuine parts here and service would have to be solely based on the distributor. PC is like standard Japanese Cars, you have stock parts and basic look BUT you can put awesome Add-ons on it, engine-swap it, put some turbo and do every little bit to squeeze every inch of HP, paint it, add some after market body kits, etc...hence, customizable. Imho, Mac is way too expensive and overrated for a computer...it's just classy; and oh, it's a drag to run AutoCad in it (and all my other CAD-related programs) ~_~

But this is just my opinion. Mac is cool but I guess it isn't for someone like me who prefers customization and DIY stuffs; and uses CAD programs. But like I said, they're all computers...I don't praise them (brand-specific), I use them.

    Just my 2 cents.

l love both macs and pcs

macs are definitely strong for designers like me, with programs like iweb and iphoto and the adobe cs5 package its awesome. also its just easier to get around.

PC's are for pure gaming, if my mac played games, which it can but i dont chose to lol, i wouldnt get any work done.

ive got windows 7 and snow leopard and i use both

wish there was a mac club of cebu to join in though

wouldnt go so far as "all-apple", I think the i-pad is sh*t... I still use my brain when making buying decisions. (naa man sad gud mga taw na brain-wash sad gyud ni steve jobs, not referring to you, just saying)

hehehe... sakto sad, I agree that its expensive but quality does come with a premium. (like I said, I have a 5 year old mac thats still working until nao and not a single hitch, ala sad na shop except for some minor upgrades... ako PC on the other hand, spent almost 200k on a rig pero maskin unsa ka nindot sa hardware after 1 month naa na software problems, pisti jud ang mircrosoft) Overrated and Mac? dha dli ko ka agree, naa ra man gud na sa what you need your computer for, and my mac does exactly what I need it to do. since imo gi relate to cars and mac, I'll have you know am also a car enthusiast and a certified NC-IV auto mechanic, japanese cars aint got sh1t on european cars. build quality palang daan there is no comparison (except maybe lexus). any real car enthusiast will tell you the same, have yet to meet a car enthusiast that prefers an over-tuned honda (or what ever japanese brand) over an AMG (or what ever euro tuning co.). besides, this thread is "MAC OWNERS of the Philippines", other words OT ka. peace!

edit: dun get me wrong, I LOOOOVVVEE PC's!! and to be fair with MicroSoft Windows7 aint half bad... I just feel that some of the comments here are impartial.

ahaha right. apple's first iteration on each of its product is always sh*t. it always lack features that you need that are already in others then they start adding those features slowly each year as they release a new version. i too, never buy stuff immediately once they come out just because they are initially cool and hyped.
