Here's the deal, not all tagalogs are hambog. Its just that a lot of them are, especially the ones in Metro Manila, Makati, or those from the major cities in Luzon, most of them are. The typical tagalog culture or mindset is that: People are defined with what they have. In other words they are kind of materialistic and opportunistic. As far as crab mentality is concerned, the tagalogs have a lot of them. Nakaminos na sila sa taga probinsya. However, not all tagalogs are like this. If you travel to tagalog provinces in Luzon like Cavite, Pampanga, Bulacan, Batangas, you will find out that the tagalogs there are kind and helpful, and their practices are sometimes more primitive than ours. The bug city tagalogs are like that because they know no better. My 2 cents.

Bugo...well siguro at some aspects. I recall talking to a group of tagalogs before. I asked them who they were voting for...They replied Erap pa rin, napakabait na tao nun, mali yung ginawa sa kanya... Dapat dati nga si FPJ sana ang nanalo....Blah....Blah...Blah... Whatever dude. I don't know what's running in their minds. They were kapamilya people, actors and some extras of a particular teleserye.

Yeah I am proud to be in Cebu to be around great people, the Cebuanos. But it would be better if we blurred diversity a bit and just say, I am proud to be Filipino, we must do our best to lessen crab mentality.
