Come to think of it, you're right, my bad!

I was probably misled into thinking they've teamed up as some folks in other boards thought the same too.

    Thanks.

it was out of character (not consistent with his portrayal) and irresponsible for Peter to publicly unmask himself when the registration act didn't require him to do so. And yes, people, he had that option. He could've chosen to go up on that podium and annouce that he'll register with the government but will not disclose his identity and put the people he loves at constant risk.

    and as for future stories?
You can NEVER have another normal Peter Parker story ever.

He can't be a teacher. The Sinister Six would blow up his school, hell they'll probably do it when he isn't there out of spite.

He can't work for the Daily Bugle. If Jonah doesn't fire him off the bat, the danger factor once again reveals itself.

His loved ones can never leave Avengers Tower. They can never lead normal lives again. If they ever leave protective custody, their throats will be slit by one of the thousands of criminals Peter's put away.

He can never not be Spiderman now. He can never walk down the street without being mobbed.

More than likely its going to be retconned eventually, but more than likely thats going to be terrible.

    ----------------
His unmasking was done only for SHOCK VALUE.

    R.I.P. Peter Parker 1962-2006
Yeah, unless Marvel will make Iron Man do some mega ray of forgetfulness on the entire planet!!! lol. In which case, I wont read another Marvel comic again.

Peter Parker is dead, at least in the metaphorical sense, because he no longer has a relatively normal life apart from being Spider-Man, thus eliminating the drama involved with his life as Peter Parker and how he tried to balance that with his other life as Spider-Man--which was partly why readers for decades read Spider-Man comics in the first place. Now, he's essentially Spider-Man 24/7. Or rather, considering how much of Iron Man's lapdog he's become, Spider-Tool.

"But wait!" says Joe Q, "You have at least a YEAR AND A HALF worth of Spider-Man stories with the unmasking." Maybe so, but that just tells me that the "unmasking" was never meant to be permanent and was just a sales stunt. But unfortunately, the WAY Peter's identity as Spider-Man was revealed, whatever "solution" Marvel comes up with is going to be so convoluted that, in the end, even those who liked the unmasking are going to cry foul. So not only is Joe Q "sucessful" in alienating the long time fans, but he'll be "successful" in alienating the die-hard fans as well, including the ever sought after "new and causal readers" who will only end up being woefully confused without having Civil War explained to them all over again. Should've paid more attention to the Clone Saga Marvel.

^^ Well lets just see how this all plays out. After all Peter just unmasked himself, yet a lot are already complaining about his future.

    Civil War 3:

What a sad day. Seeing Iron man beat the crap out of Captain America, his bestfriend no less. It is so disheartening. While i'll give kudos for seeing Hercules spot on with his characterization, i was a bit shocked to see Thor on the other side. They better have a good explanation for that.

But still, my gripes are with Spider-man. Seriously, who is this guy? This is not Peter Parker. He's now Ironman's sidekick/comic relief. And its more alienating that Spidey, under Iron Man, is also issuing field commands to the other heroes in Civil War #3. Peter--What a sellout. This, like so many things lately is a MASSIVE character betrayal that is simply sickening.

Christ, he is fighting cap and DD now?! His friends, of all people. All under the orders of his "boss."

Spot on! And let me add:
Yes, Peter makes mistakes. But Peter is not- I repeat- IS NOT THIS STUPID. Based on what we're given here, Peter was more mature and intelligent as a teenager than he is now.

And this is made even worse by the fact that we know he's going to turn-around. That means all the evidence was right in front of him and he didn't even bother to look it through carefully. This is life and death- many lives at stake, and yet he took it far too lightly.

Is there any hint about that new armor he's wearing that could probably influence, if not control, his mind and decisions or something?

While #3 made fans hate Spider-man more, what was surprising was the siding of Thor to SHIELD. We ask, "SINCE WHEN?" In the FF comics, it was seen that a man with a briefcase with the initials D.B. took Mjollnir, but there was no trace of SHIELD or any of the Avengers/Pro-Reg heroes.

P.S. spidey continuity is f@$#& up deep in the ass right now.
