If you review the first PIRATES movie, right after the credits there's a scene where Jack (the monkey, not the captain hehehe...the monkey's name is also "Jack") swims up from the water to the chest filled with the cursed Aztec Gold and Barbossa's body is nearby. The closing shot is the monkey screeching towards the camera in its undead form, kay nikuha naman sad siya ug coin from the chest. I guess it would be safe to assume nga right after Barbossa got shot, wa pa jud siya namatay daun. It could be nga when Jack the monkey got hold of a coin, he somehow perhaps niduol siya sa lawas ni Barbossa and could have gave him a coin or something, thus putting the undead curse in effect again. And as we saw in DMC, buhi sa Barbossa. And it could be that Tia Dalma may have found a way to lift the undead curse from Jack the monkey and Barbossa as well.
