Omoshiroi! I think what we need for this is to have:
-High end metalic alloys superimposed with advanced nanotech fibers for the armor and internal metalic parts.
-Hundred-fold heat removing machines to quickly cool down the Gundam during in-between fire movement.
-Plasma beam generator for the beam rifles and beam sabers.
-A heat multiplier energy generator or a minimized nuclear reactor for the power of the Gundam.
-High end propulsion engines for the lift off of the gundam from the ground.
-Advanced sound gathering device for audio collection.
-Thermal, infrared and UV sensing cameras for the vision.
-Advanced yet simplified AI for the controls.
-The pilot with intense training.

But sadly, only a few to none of these are existant today.

Before you fantasize about walkers, mecha, etc, try to answer this question first:

Why is an ant able to lift more than 10 times its own weight?

Geometry and physics predict the effect of size on an animal's strength to weight ratio.

You people are already talking about armor, weaponry, etc when in fact, the fundamental issues on weight and proportion are being ignored.
