from a technical point of view, cloud computing is just a term. the specifics that stands behind it is VERY OLD. hibulong ko ani nga term kay mura man ug modern paminawon unya *hip* kaayo pero hagbay ra man ni nga concept. nearest analogy tingali kay RAID pero multiply it a hundred times plus networking (qos, load balancing etc.) i guess. so what's the fuss? kahinumdom hinuon ko sa OOP da. why? OOP is a way of thinking just like cloud computing.

EDIT: akong perspective kay dili sa end user. peace.

The concept is old, everybody gets that. What's being discussed are the new aps that are being introduced everyday. Just as Linux being old, and yet you find new groups forming everywhere.

clearly not everyone gets it kay naa man interesado i-seminar ni-add ra pud kog input kay wala may naka-mention sa fundamentals. no need for me to setup a "seminar" just to bring up the nitty-gritty stuff kay naa nman forum ^^

EDIT: kung apps istoryahan, same as any other app ra na siya if (cloud) abstraction is done correctly.

Just because people attended the seminar, didn't mean they didn't knew about cloud computing already. There was a big IT conference in Singapore, forgot if it was this year or last year, they had international speakers and one of the major topic was on cloud computing, i'm sure those that attended didn't thought that the concept was new

I never said that the seminar we did was about the fundamentals of cloud computing... I only said that it was around the subject.

One of the reasons why we "setup seminars" as you put it, is to introduce new technologies around the same subject... or to sell new products/services that are related to the topic.

That's why we are coming out with an event next month, we have new products and services.. and we're doing it even if "naa nay forum".

Techies / Nerds agree that the concept of cloud computing is old. I indeed agree to that statement yet the deluge of new online apps are becoming more hip and useful. Take the following

Pixlr - an online photo editing tool where you can .. what else but edit photos.
    GMail-email
Google Docs- Beats for making docs on the go!
Ebuddy- a chat client for many err chats like YM, icq, Gtalk and more

Now let me post this question: What "cloud apps" have you been using?
