The good thing is you have "some" ideas about what could be behind the hostage takers mind. He can't speak for himself now since he's already dead. The bad thing is you are not Mr. Mendoza. And the story is Mr. Mendoza was working for Mayor Lim before. When the viral email was spread by Christian Kalaw's dad to the La Sallites, it was Mayor Lim himself who initiated to have him removed from the service. After that, the Ombudsman stepped in. I cannot remember anymore which site was that due to the number of related stories that have cropped up after the tragic incident.

11 hours is long enough for Mendoza to spew-out all his grievances. Not once did he insinuate that it was Mayor Lim's fault that he was dismissed. Even up to the point where he was about to go down with blazing gun. Most people believe the issue was between him and the current Ombudsman. Otherwise, if it's Lim who was standing on his way, he could pointed that out earlier on the crisis. If Mendoza real intent was just to voice out his the injustice that had been done to him...first thing he would do is name names at those person who pushed him into a corner. But then he was asking unrealistic things which is usually done by terrorist intended simply to turn authorities around their head by asking impossible demands, in his case- outright blank sleet without due process of law...perhaps a way of mocking the law of the land.

Perhaps Mendoza is good man but as shown by the way he ends up...he was an asshole. Killing innocent people and dragging the whole country into his personal vendetta speak for himself.

There was no justification for any of his action...he should had been sniper shot when there was a chance but 11 hours had passed and nothing happens to him, and people outside the country could not understand why...a former hostage taker of 26 children in bus is now on bail and a folk hero...shame this kind of mentality!

We'll nobody knows. It is your theory anyway. I can't read into a dead man's mind. But the fact is -and as confirmed by inquirer.net that Mayor LIM kept a low profile during the negotiations because he indeed initiated his removal from the service. When he saw that his brother was arrested and which he saw on television, it was when he started to snap. This is also confirmed in the senate hearing by Magtibay. Why he started firing is "probably" because he sensed that "people up" are going to silence his brother and including him. I am not saying that LIM is doing monkey business but it leaves us some unanswered questions. The guy worked for him before. There was incident on drugs and the guy was removed from his job and Lim was the one who initiated it. This could probably invited the minds of the PEXErs to imagine that somebody out there is afraid of buking.

i remembered when flor contemplacion was hanged in singapore even with Pres. Ramos plea for a pardon or reconsideration, after the hanging singaporeans in our country left for fear of being persecuted by the pinoys. i just hope the hongkong people wouldn't be that narrow minded and start hurting filipinos in hongkong as a sign of some sort of a retaliation to what happened. if ever that happens.....

the problem here is, the hostages aren't filipinos. so whatever the outcome of the hostage taking. it will be our countrys head of state who's gonna explain and apologize to anothers' country head of state, right?? not mayor lim!! not gen. magtibay, not the so-called mpd swat, not even the ambassador of this country to hongkong. so that means the head of the state has all the right to take command and responsibilty of that freaking situation. IT'S AN INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT!!! IT INVOLVES OTHER CITIZENS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES!! because even if they will find out who was responsible for the said failure, being the president and the commander-in-chief he is the one RESPONSIBLE!!! do you guys think that hongkong govt. cares if it was lim, magtibay, versosa's fault. hell no!!! what now, pnoy will tell hongkong that he can't be blamed because he was sleeping and point the finger on someone else. and to make things worst, coloma told the media that donald tseng was a liar. Capt. Rodolfo Mendoza was terminated because his men committed a crime which he wasn't aware of. there this thing that they call"COMMAND RESPONSIBILITY". because it was his men, he was responsible for all their doings, legal or illegal. that's why he was sacked and stripped-off of all his benefits.

NOW!! are the filipinos willing to sacrifice all those OFWs we have in hongkong if things blow out of proportion there because our president is mentally retarded!! if the hongkong govt will deport all filipinos there do you think for the thousands of OFWs, will he give them jobs and support their families this will result to his major major failure!!

nope, it doesn't. why? mostly, hongkong people come here for vacation. some for business but no so much. if we ban them, they will go some place else. right??some filipinos go there for vacation but 95% of filipinos in hongkong are OFWs. clear?? if they will not allow us to go there and they will deport thousands of OFW, will our govt guarantee to put them somewhere else, somewhere where they work same jobs that they do in HK?? hmmmmm...think!! or would the govt. even give them jobs here?? i guess not!! we have millions of unemployed citizens.
