I am dismayed by how the past administrations failed to professionalize our police in handling hostage taking crisis, daghan naman na before kato sa pasig and last year kato school bus sa kids.. they still havent learned the right way, uwaw pa kay on international television ang ila pag handle.. Pnoy could have done something.

Either way if something like that happens, shoot to kill or disable if naay opportunity ang mga police nlng unta negotiating with wild animals is quite impossible.

3)of course nobody was sure of the outcome, but at least para mahibaw sa tanan that the president was aware of what was happening, ni-release unta siya og statement like 'i have sent high officials of the PNP to assess the situation & we are doing everything blah blah blah' ,pra at least man lang makit-an nga naay gi himo pra ma resolve kining international incident..

kung ang police force ang incompetent, the least the president could have done was send the best team available to handle the situation, naa did2 ang camp crame, aguinaldo.. naa man untay mga maau diha na pma or pnpa grad sa forces na2, cyaro sad ,pero kanang gi buhat nasad niya is the 'pontius pilate move' ,hugas dayon sa kamot.. kung na successful 2, aw hatag cya award, pero kung nayagaw, fotbol kung kinsay angay fotbolon (murag pagasa)

i dont know why you keep defending a president who has no balls to fight for you.. i only have a few friends & i can count them w/ my fingers, but at anytime i'd gladly give up my life for them, cause i know they would do the same for me, its a band of brothers, as simple as that... but the president doesnt earn my respect, he is indecisive & inept in situations like this.. you keep defending him but when the time comes when he has to defend you, do you think he'd do anything to save your life?? you may just be another statistical number to him & a sorry speech in the making..

during the iraq invasion when a marine girl (19yr old i think) had their convoy ambushed, the injured girl was captured & taken to an iraqi hospital, people in the US government pulled strings, CIA NSA, & days after the girl was rescued by navy seals.. when somali pirates captured a ship & the captain made a deal w/ the pirates to spare the crew & take him, navy seals came to the rescue & did a wonderful job.. the philippines is well behind compared to the US military BUT as commander-in-chief, you should know that the best people to handle critical situations is at your own disposal, as a leader, mao unta ni gi himo ni noynoy, call all high ranking officers, ask what his options are, then choose an option he finds best & be ready for the consequences.. dili siya sikat sa military & police BUT at least he should have earned their respect.. mas mo respeto pa unta ang mga people in uniform kung mao 2 iya gi himo.. wala man gani nahadlok dawat og responsibility ang president sa russia during the moviehouse hostage taking, naay nangamatay na hostage unya patay tanan hostage taker.. as a leader you will be faced w/ scary & hairy situations, the outcome maybe bad BUT what matters is that you took action, made the best option & took responsibility, i never felt noynoy lift a finger for what happened..
First things first! Were you there in PNoy's table when the ordeal was happening? Did you see someone sitting in their couches, just watch the horror, and let those incompetent police force storm the bus!

You are not there! Don't speculate that our government, our top ranking officials are doin' nothing to avoid such disgraceful fate. Ultimo gani kita dodong, nabalaka sa panghitabo, sila pa ba kaha....

If we were so reactive during the event, I don't think our top government officials are doin' nothing. That is what we've got, mao na ingon ato tong panghitabo! Presumably our top ranking official gave those orders to end it by force. What is not acceptible is how they stormed the bus! They look mediocres!

And now who's to be blamed? The president? because he doesn't gave orders? I don't think so!!! The chief of staff? Manila mayor? Vice mayor?

Wake up and live with what reality has provided you! That is what we've got. Our government pulled what they have during that time... It isn't just enough! Our police is incompetent enough! Our media is irresponsible enough!

Will if we have people and equipment like those that made the covert ops in somalia to rescue the Maersk Captain, then only a single shot could end the ordeal. But accept it, what we saw last night is presumably what we've got... Wake up call ni sa atong police force to uplift their counter insurgency efforts!

And oh.. one thing, I did not vote for PNOY!!!! He isn't my president... It is just so dumb blaming every government official esp. the president for what had happened...

It is the entire system that collapsed! Our police force blew their jobs! Our media blew their jobs. Mr. Mendoza's brother blew the negotiating panel's effort to end it peacefully!!!

Mr. Mendoza was already upset even before he saw on television what the policemen did to his brother. The other tourists who remained inside the bus were complaining. Wei Ji Jiang wanted to go to the bathroom. Dao Chi Yu was hungry and the rest were just groaning and whining like they have forgotten that our lives rest in Mr. Mendoza's hands.

The hostage taker, as you know him was really nice. He treated us okay and even let the elders and the children leave the bus. He said your policemen treated him unfairly. He was a policeman too and was accused of doing something he had no knowledge of. But your government didn't listen so he used us to get everyone's attention.

Things would have never turned for the worst if he didn't see how his family was dragged out of their house and taken into custody. He was watching the news all the time as we huddled around each other behind the bus. He shouted some words in your language then started shooting in the air. A girl about my age started screaming. Mr. Mendoza demanded her to stop but she didn't understand English. God, he had to slash her neck with a knife just to put her to rest. Her boyfriend who tried to hit him was shot in the head.

Tension was rising. You can see in his face how scared and confused he was. The bus driver ran away leaving him alone with strangers from a distant land. I can see him walking across the aisle, sometimes pointing his machine gun to one of the tourists. But he tried his best not to hurt us, especially those who really cooperate.

I guess its in your nature not to inflict pain on others unless it was necessary. I remember him saying that he will free us before sundown and implored us to forget everything when we return home. But his words don't matter now. The policemen were trying to force their way in, while we all lied down to shield ourselves from bullets. Mister Mendoza blindly shoots at his enemies which I think kept them from rescuing us. I hear sobs under the chairs. Some were even shouting the names of their loved ones even when the air merely eat their words. Kevin Tang tried to escape when the glass door was was shattered, but one shot and he slumped on the floor with blood gushing from his mouth.

Heavy rain pitter-pattered on the rooftop. In old Chinese saying, it means an end to a struggle. Finally, somebody was able to open the escape hatch at the back of the bus. Freedom. But I knew Mister Mendoza was still alive. I knew he was just waiting for a chance to strike back at his enemies. So I told those around me not to escape. Let the authorities come for us instead. Then there was gunfire. He was firing at his enemies with a machine gun. Those who were at the escape hatch fled abandoning us once again. It's like a nightmare with no end and to wake up means a certain death. Then somebody from outside the bus threw a canister. It forced out a black smoke that is so painful to the eyes and putrid smelling to the nose. People started screaming. We cannot breathe. Some ran in front of the bus but Mister Mendoza warned them of stray bullets. It was too late. One was hit on the head, the other was hit on the shoulders. Bullets were now flying. Its like the authorities thought we were all dead. Mister Mendoza finally admits his mistake and said sorry to everyone, dead or alive. He then ran towards the front of the bus where he would meet his maker. As he passed by my chair with bullets whistling overhead, I clutched my hand on the velvet curtain and wrapped it around my face. All I could think of was to stay alive - for my child who is waiting for me back in Xinjang. I know I will survive,

    I will come home.

    Bang Lu Min

I guess the SWAT Team who responded yesterday was the BEST of what we got, which you can see na poorly equiped and poorly trained.

Pnoy can only do is watch, listen to tactical commanders in the field and in the office, then maybe Pnoy gave the order for the assault, but when the assault order was given, the SWAT Team now has the responsibility of the situation, if our SWAT Team was PROPERLY Equipped, PROPERLY Trained for sure the assault will be successful. Blame it to gloria, in 9 years niya na term unta gi train niya ang armed forces, gi palitan niya ug equipments, gi pa datu ra niya mga generals pero ang equipment sa armed forces wala niya gi upgrade.
pero tan-awa gud 2 sa tv, mao na2y 'best' na2 ? grabeha sad gud, just like sa US, the commander-in-chief should have at his disposal 'THE BEST' team available.. ka daghan pa mas maau a2 nila.. mas maau pa man intawn a2 ang scout rangers na2 kaysa ilaha.. ka daghan pa mga sundalo og police mas maau a2 kaysa ilaha.. & the philippines is not that big, kung ingnon na2 ang best assault team tua sa davao at the moment, ma abtan pa nila kung ni lupad sila pa noontime pra sila mo handle.. wala lang gyud gi himo tanan ni noynoy na pwede niya mahimo.. hadlok siya og responsibility.. ka2ng kang gloria diay sa p3n!nsula siege, nasulbad man 2 na mas daghan hostage taker og daghan hostages?? it was a lousy team that handled the situation sa quirino..

mao nay best swat team na2?? do you know that seconds after a flashbang explodes, mka recover na ang naigo sa area?? thats why after a flashbang is thrown, the entire team should move forward & assault during the time na in disarray pa ang hostage taker.. gloria actually has more balls than the current inept president.. epic fail

I do agree with this. The past and present administration had a hand. we cannot just point fingers to them, we have to assess our part. remember that we were only spectators, what if we were there? what could we have done?
