P48M for road concreting projects
CEBU, Philippines - The City Council has approved the program of works and estimates for 16 road concreting projects in different barangays here, mostly those in the mountainous areas.
Each project costs roughly P3 million and covers 300 to 500 meters. The concreting projects are intended to make travel to and from these barangays easier and more convenient, especially to farmers who deliver their goods to the city.
Recipients of the projects include the road from sitio Manasawa to Campo in Barangay Binaliw, the road from Barangay Agsungot to barangay Cambinocot, the Hoyong-Hoyong road in Barangay Bacayan, the road from Barangay Guba to Barangay Sirao, the road from Barangay Mabini to Barangay Paril, the road from Barangay Busay to Barangay Budlaan, and the road from Barangay Adlaon to Barangay Guba.
The road in Urban Ville Relocation site in Barangay Pit-os proper, the entire stretch of road in sitio Bombil in Barangay Lusaran, the road from Ayala Heights in Barangay Malubog to Barangay Sirao, and the road from Candarong to Tanay in Barangay Pulangbato are also due for concreting.
The P48 million budget for the projects will be charged against this year’s Supplemental Budget 3 (SB3), as approved by the Council last March.
To recall, the Council passed the P1.483 billion SB 3, the highest, so far, in the history of Cebu City.
Included in the SB 3 are the P343 million for infrastructure projects in the barangays that cover renovations, road concreting and construction of multi-purpose buildings, health centers and drainage.
With the budget available, the city may set the bidding anytime for interested contractors willing to work on the projects.
The city estimates that the projects will be completed in two to three months from the start of construction.
