Aquino not satisfied with how hostage crisis was handled

Asked if he thought there were lapses in the way the crisis was handled, Aquino answered, “How can I be satisfied when there are people who died?"

“For instance, for incidents such as this, equipment [are] necessary, the ability to deploy it everywhere in the country. Andami talagang kelangang gawin (There are a lot of things that must be done)," he said.

He added that “the method they (SWAT team) employed to breach was not successful. Obviously we will need better equipment and more training to be able to successfully breach such a scenario."

Aquino also justified the government’s decision not to choose a high-ranking official to negotiate with Mendoza, saying there was an opinion that it would lead to more demands from the hostage-taker, who might think a higher official could grant more privileges and concessions.

SWAT " Special WEAPONS and TACTICS". I was really disappointed kay abi nko, pag sugod nag lihuk sa swat mahuman njud ta. unsa man nga wa gni sila khabw asa jud ilang point of entry. permiro sa bintana unya sa main door , unya sa luyo napud. nya pag katapusan sa emrgency exit ra diay. perti pa ka dugay naablihan. liman kag it took almost an hour usa na neutralize ang hostage taker given the fact nga nana ang swat sa tiilan sa bus, i was waiting for their planned tactics nga mhuman dayon.. naa pay ni apil sa pag storm sa bus nga ang armas pistola ra, wala gniy bullet proof vest or kevlar helmet man lang, nag kaw ra, nya nag teargas2x nya walay gas mask ang mga pulis!! looya tawn oi.. mag wonder lang ko kung demonstration2x kumpleto man nag gamit mga puilsa, nka full battle gear pa gni na sila.

i agree bro...dapat one point of entry and dapat igstart breaking sa entry point diritso na sud dli kay mag sige lang ug posing...

sayop kaayo bro and mga sis....in a hostage crisis you do not fuel the hostages takers anger because it would make it worst!!!!!

You empathize and tell him there are other ways and has options for a better exit rather than be haste and start shooting!!! Sayop perti ka sayop gyud!!!! These police officials needs to be more sensitive to what they are dealing. We as human need to be heard in times of desperation and NOT BE TREATED AS A RAT THAT NEEDS TO BE EXTERMINATED!!!!!
