    Default Comment on Dermatologists Tried

    [quote=wolfhound;4147283]Plz post in this format:

    Dermatologist's name: Dr. Bernad
    Clinic location: Perpetual
    Contact number:
    Problem: Acne
    Meds prescribed: Almost everything ( BP, peels, etc. )
    Result(Satisfied/not satisfied, why?): Not sure anymore.
    Comments:
    I really had good results with her until recently when my hormones changed because of a medication I've been taking for a certain condition. The thing is when I took my medication ( for my condition ) my acne started to worsen. I just had mild to moderate acne. And now, I get zits on my forehead ( which never happened to me ever ) and my cheeks and my chin ( which rarely happened before ). The zits have started to become too uncontrollable and unfortunately, I don't think that the usual regimen that Dr. B prescribed to me is taking any effect already.

    I just have a problem with the procedure that is being done to me-- which is the acne pricking. For me, I think it does more harm than good. Because after I get a facial, the small zits would turn gigantic because it would get infected. I would then use an anti-bacterial solution or an antibiotic solution but it never works!! The other disadvantage to getting your pimples pricked ( aside from the unbearable pain and post-pricking infection ) is that it leaves terrible red marks or spots and scabs that take a long time to go away. And recently, I had a facial done and it has left serious red marks on my face.

    I don't believe that the pricking works at all. Maybe it works for others but it doesn't work for me since I'm prone to infection.

    So, right now, I'm looking at a second opinion. Preferrably, a doctor who doesn't prick pimples.

    I did my research on the internet and I read that getting a TCA peel is great for acne and red spots ( left after the pimple gets better ). I read that the acid in the TCA peel will melt the underlying sebum and trapped dirt and at the same time will cause the upper layer of your skin to slough off or renew itself.

    Frankly, I would prefer peels to getting facials because when I get a facial, the pimple always gets infected afterward no matter how much they sanitize the skin.

    Anyway, I'm going to get a second opinion but can anyone recommend a good doctor who uses TCA peels?

    Thanks!
