I'm not a muslim hater, in fact, I have few muslim friends and I dated a Muslim girl in high-school. Not all MUSLIMS are bad, but building a mosque at GROUND ZERO?!?! HELL NOOOO!!!! No other place in NY they can build one?? Hmmm... During the meeting yesterday, they said they plan to open the CORDOBA MOSQUE on Sept. 11, 2011. Tell me if this is still acceptable.

Also, the people behind the CORDOBA victory MOSQUE are refusing to disclose where does the $100M funding came from. Hmmm... sounds sketchy!!!

Wow!!! America has now being invaded from the inside. Wow!!!! This mosque will be a fortress to Islam in the West, and forcefully convert THE AMERICAS to ISLAM. PEOPLE JUST NEVER NOTICED IT!!!!!!!!!! North America will be an ISLAMIC continent and the constitution will be replaced by Sharia Law.
Why do you keep repeating "AT Ground Zero"? In no point in the article is there ever a mention of a mosque AT ground zero. Are you one of those "approve without thinking" rallyists na kung unsa ingon sa mga noise makers mo apil ra ka kai imong sabot kai gubot or dautan?

    OT:
Remember, bai, 90% of protestors don't even know what they're protesting. There was this one show that demonstrated this fact. The test employed approaching certain ongoing protesters to sign a petition for the elimination of hydroxide (yes, tubig!) in all of the world's water supplies kai maka cause daw ug hydration and drowning. LOLz. Guess what? People actually signed the blasted petition! Unsa man? Ipahubas nila ang tanan tubig sa kalibutan para mangamatay ta tanan?

So I hope na imong pagsugod ani na thread dili kai tungod nakisawsaw lang ka sa gubot na wa ka kasabot.

    An update:
Mosque’s opponents have taken opposite position in court - Yahoo! News

A quote from one of the readers (another point similar to RonIvs):
Islam didn't do 9/11, if you took the Oklahoma city bombing in 1995, and someone built a CHURCH NEXT TO IT BECAUSE THE GUY WAS A CHRISTIAN, RELIGIONS HAVE NOTHING TO DO CONSERNING INDIVIDUALS You blame a whole faith on the act of these terrorist organizations that are extremists and widely hated because they kill innocents, HATE AL-QAEDA NOT ISLAM

maybe it's time people forget the hate and let the healing begin. i think this one is a step towards healing. it sends a message that islam as a religion is above the hate of its extremist members. if we keep on having grudges there would be no peace. look at israel and palestine...

'Hello?!? Earth to RonIvs, Christians didn't bomb the WTC? So yes, you get to keep your testes. Faith Mosque, Cordoba (Spain), Al-Aqsa Mosque etc are just some mosques built on former temples/churches. Read a bit on how they came to be and you will find bloodshed and conquest.

I bet the Cathedral were it auctioned, would have an Islamist come out as the top bidder'

I don't see anything wrong with building a mosque near Ground Zero. After all, if America is supposed to be the land of the free, then shouldn't that mean that the people should also be free to express their religion as long as the rights of others are not compromised?

some people should know the way how islam grew so fast...i think we Christians must be aware of there growth.

I understand the sentiments of the victims of the 9/11 attack.
If the Mosque will be built, it's supposed to symbolize peace making efforts of the United States to let the Muslims know that there's no hatred towards their religion, yadah yadah yadah. I am all for that. There are good people that happen to be Muslims.

However, those extremists will not see it that way, they'll be preaching their victory, not only successfully killing a number of Americans, but the rise of Muslim power on American soil. I can see this one as a form of encouragement, pump them up more to kill even more.

This maybe out of topic and an ignorant statement, but the terrorists are able to live, get educated here, become citizens, only to turn against the USA (everything it stands for) -it's because they have MONEY. Not easy for Filipinos to even get a visitors visa to the US, because they assume that you'd only want to work "makakasapalaran" (sorry spelling). To think we have been a great ally and partner to the US. In a lot of cases, it's very true (this is the place a few number of Filipinos want to work) but at least the intention is good, not to do any harm, always grateful for the opportunity to be here an Pinoy ug Pinay.

this is a good move but dapat 80-90% ang favor ani dili ng 50-50 kay basin bombahan napod nya na sa pikas side nga extremists(non-muslim).

^^ mao. unsoan man gud if mag-show money wala man wawart ang pinoy. ang al-qaeda mag show money, aw, milyones ang bank account! Pila ra dayon pag sulod ana sa mga dako-dako!

But to be a little up to date, dili na lisud magkuha ug visa ron sa US. I thank arroyo for making a mutual agreement with americans to be more lax with pinoy travellers. So far I've known a good number of people who've been there with no hassle. Usa ra ang na deny sa akong kaila so far, which was my 21yr-old cousin who wrongly declared that he is unemployed and is being supported by his father. Sayop gyud daw ni and wala dawata sa embassy kai 21 na daw siya walay trabaho.
