It works out almost all the muscles which lets you burn fat faster. It is bodyfat percentage that determines whether you have six-pack abs or not.

    In simple terms:
Six pack abs = Eating right (low carbs, high protein/fat), interval training, compound lifts (clean and press, deadlift) then finally core training (sit ups, planks, leg ups) so as you can see, abs specific exercise is very low in priority and in my opinion is not even absolutely needed to get a six-pack to show.
    thanks, very helpful ni

I change routine about every 2 weeks between bulking strength conditioning (very heavy weights for 6-8 reps 4 sets, 3-day split routine) and cutting (whole body workout every other day using compound power lifts, this is the routine I just posted). Every 2 months I take a 1 week break from weightlifting and do only some cardio to avoid overtraining.

It's alright to take longer rest between workouts if you're focusing on strength conditioning, but only so you can recover enough to do another set. But if doing cutting and circuit training, it's important to keep it under 30 secs.
