Is this a good or bad way of using tax money?

CEBU City Vice Mayor Joy Augustus Young is interested in three old planes of the Department of Education (Deped), saying City Hall can use these for rescue operations.

He learned the agency, whose head office he recently visited, scheduled a bidding for their three planes in Nueva Ecija, on a cash and “as is, where is” basis. But Young wants to trade the planes for school building projects City Hall will pay for.

this is aint cool for tax payers... its our money and its not cool to use this to any non sense projects, its just a waste of time and money... we're talking about big money that only those people in the GOVERNMENT have the privilege to enjoy it... think about it...

If rescue is the purpose, helicopters are better, particularly sa mountain areas sa city. But planes na old? No good. They'll just be used as someone's pleasure craft.

First there was the bad idea of reviving the failed CAIB (a waste of tax money), then there was that P2,000,000 idea for a city hall band, and now this.
