The three Josenian CPA Board Topnotchers were honored during the oath taking ceremony of new CPA’s on July 2, 2010 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila.
The Josenian topnotchers were Gecel Codera (1st placer), Niño Martin Juntong (3rd placer), and Mark Solatorio (6th placer)
Distinguished guests during the oath taking included the Chairman of the Profesional Regulation Commission Hon. Nicolas Lapeña, and the members of the Board of Accountancy headed by their Chairman Hon. Eugene Mateo.
1st placer Gecel Codera delivered a response speech in behalf of the 1 886 new CPA’s (39% of the 4 772 takers) who took their oaths. In her well applauded speech, Codera stressed that “along with hard work, sincere and constant prayer to God is the best means to success.” She drew the loudest applause when she ended her speech with the following line which is very typical of a Josenian: “Let me share with you that at my beloved alma mater, University of San Jose – Recoletos, we often say “Adelante” which means “to move forward.” My dear colleagues in the Accountancy profession let us all move forward! Adelante!”

All smiles! The Josenian topnotchers, with their medals and plaques. (From Left) Mark Solatorio (6th placer), Gecel Codera (1st placer), and Niño Martin Juntong (3rd placer).
