lupus is not a death sentence oi. alot of lupus patients lived a normal life span if treated well. ang lupus di pareha. SLE is just one type. naa pa toy duha ka type, and usa mild lang and it only affects the skin and doesn't involved major organs. the other type is triggered by taking certain types of medicines. there is no single test that can detect lupus and it can be hard to diagnose it (sometimes it takes years) kay ang mga symptoms gud niya daghan man kapareha and they also come and go. as far as i know, you have to have at least 4 out of 11 lupus symptoms (like the one posted by someone). either 4 at one time or individually over a period of time (meaning bisan wala mag dungan). that together with an extensive laboratory test is how they diagnose lupus but usually doctors look for an abnormal values in Anti-Smith, Anticardiolipin, anti-DNA Ab Qn and ANA titre.
to deveann...lupus is a very complex disease so i dont think you can get tested for it without consulting a doctor. there are so many laboratory test that needs to be done (only the doctors know what kind) before ka ma officially diagnosed aning sakita. i dont think you can just walk in any laboratory and say u want to get tested for lupus coz it's the doctor who will give the recommended lab test and they are the ones who can read and understand the results. so in this case i strongly suggest magpa check kag doctor coz what you think you have might just be something else.
