Cellphones camera resolution: VGA or MEGAPIXEL

hey guys i was just wondering what's the difference between the two because i was a bit confuse and when you talk about it quality which is better? coz i have read that VGA (640x480) is just equivalent .5MP more or less

here's a situation i'm planning to buy a phone which is k700i but it camera resolution was 640x480.

help...

k700i not good in video and still pics i have mine good only for scandal wahoooooo...

get k750i instead

VGA is only .3Megapixel.

calculate:

640x480=307200 Pixels = 0.307200 MegaPixels

My K750i has max resolution
1632x1224

calculate:
1632x1224= 1997568Pixels = 1.997668 Megapixels
or approx 2MP resolution

Other 2 MP cams only show 1600x1200 or only 1920000= 1.92 MP.

but hey its still WAY better than VGA mode.

The Nokia N series have the best Video recording mode coz its at 352*258 resolution. Other phones are still at 176*144 resolution.

But if you really want great pics/videos, get a Digital Camera, not a camera phone.

But for some people, VGA resolution is already enough. Its already decent enough to get good shots. Just know how to get the best lighting possible.
