OK thanks, contemplating on getting a nexus one for my wife man gud, it will be in my hands today for testing, I want to update it. I went on the google site and it said the unit is not available in our country.

Couple more of quick questions:

1.) Can it sync with outlook aside from google calendar.
2.) Does it support push email for gmail?
3.) Do you have to be online to sync with google calendar or will it just sync with GC over PC?
4.) How do you make an account with the android market?
5.) If the phone belonged to someone else, can I reset it and register it again to android market with our new account?

i dont really have a N1 so my answers will be based upon my lost motorola milestone.

2. in my moto droid i get notified i have a new email once i connect to wifi since i didnt have a data plan

3. no clue here but im guessing, online.

4. your google account is your android account, and it can even be your youtube account. you only login once, and that's when you are setting up your android.

5. remove the current google account in it, put in your own account. done.

For items 1,2 and 3:

1. You have to use a third party apps for this, I am using companionlink.
2. Yes, but has so much delay and you have to be always online, but you can't subscribe to BB service that the telco is offering.
3. Yes, it has to have a direct access to your google account not outlook.

Bad news for us, my friend was clearing up his nexus one to sel to us, upon doing so, it is not stuck on boot screen with "X" and unlock padlock at bottom.


1.) He went to settings and clicked restore
2.) It rebooted and got stuck to this.

He send unit to me just now.
1.) Removed bat to turn off since power button no longer works to shut phone off
2.) Pressed POWER+Vol Down to enter Menu

3.) Selected Clear Storage
4.) asked to confirm, so I did, it said it will reboot in 5 seconds, so it did and still stuck with this screen.

Alternatively,

I chose recovery, then wiped everything, reboot still the same.


Tried downloading multiple roms, renamed to update.zip, but it will give me an error in recover mode, not signed.

This N1 is unlocked.

Now, I want to follow the instructions here but I am wondering if it is worth it or I will just return the n1. Certainly a bad sign having seconds thoughts on moving to Android

Did this happen due to the cooked ROM, because Android phone are not that mature yet, when it comes to that aspect.

Nope, it happened only because he restored it to clear all the data, rom used was stock rom lang.

Murag Moto Droid x man pina ka nindut sa? The only bad side is dili ma customized daw ug ROMS but to many people, that really isnt a problem, as long as pas pas na daan ang unit and access to aps sa android market then wala naka problema!

Unit was sent back to HK na.

Install another firmware on it, like the cyanogen mod then enter recovery mode, that should fix the lock screen problem.

The problem is, before you can install another firmware you need to enable something within the system to be able to use USB and get a command terminal, but I cannot access the system settings anymore. Anyway it was sent to HK, hopefull the owner will get a brand new replacement

ry, i highly recommend getting the htc desire nalang...its much nicer user interface....mas nindot gyud siya gamiton...its currently preloaded with 2.1 but you can update to 2.2 once its available for free directly to your phone via wifi. currently 2.2 beta is out but still bit buggy in some areas. it wont be long when the official finished version should come out.
