Bai, in Evolutionary Biology, when somebody asks you what the ancestors of homo sapiens are, he's referring to the species that came before homo sapiens. Pilosopo man kaayo nang tubaga nga homo sapiens atong ancestor kay ang great grandparents nato homo sapiens pud. Get my point?

missing link? Not a requirement.
irrefutable? That's unscientific, science must remain falsifiable. Proven is the better term. The evidence is at the genetic level.
from monkeys? Again, if you are referring to the modern animals we call monkeys, then no. Ape-like ancestors, yes.
