how about S/N ratio and interference?
bro, dili man jd na nimo ma notice ang lose sa signal if through ping lang kay pila ra gud na ka bytes iya gi send ug receive. to make sure that you have an efficient connection try to test the bandwidth of the network. Me, I test the bandwidth through my local webserver by download MBs of data to the segment of the network using my laptop. My LAN is 100Mbps connection and during my tests, I usually have between 10.6MBps to 11.3MBps during my download. I did it during na walay nag gamit sa network just to make sure that my test is accurate.bai from experience lang wala ra'y kaso mag sumpay. in my previous company before nga grabe mag sige balhin balhin (hasta IT office sige og balhin) wala mi choice but to sumpay haron madali. ok ra man ang connection. bisan e ping kay less than 10ms gihapon. there are even 2 nodes riding on one utp cable. reply lang gihapon. we are using client server based applications and almost 100 nodes mi in an office - factory setup so medyo lagyo ang mga sub offices and not in one building. basta tarong lang gyud ang pag sumpay and walay loose contact. but if have the money and resources don't follow my advice.... evil just my 2 cents lang.
cheapest solution and more effective
buy a RJ45 coupler & terminate a RJ45 on both ends
