    quote from HTC
AGPS will use the data connection of your device such as GPRS
so it is correct to conclude that Globe does not charge your GPRS usage?
    quote from AGPS wiki
A typical A-GPS-enabled receiver will use a data connection (Internet or other) to contact the assistance server for A-GPS information. Some A-GPS devices cannot fall back to standard GPS, needing cell tower or internet signal as these A-GPS devices won't function with only GPS satellite signal.
Many mobile phones combine A-GPS and other location services including Wi-Fi Positioning System and cell-site triangulation in a hybrid positioning system.[2]
btw, ako nasuwayan are JRCs and Tokimecs GPS units.
free to use as these are real deal dedicated GPS receivers. NOT AGPS or pseudo GPS, etc present on mobile phones.
my last vessel had 5 GPS, wtf. kapoy input sa waypoints.
although usa lng ang naka synchronize sa Radar ,Arpa and ECDIS.

    edit:
sorry didn't notice the post above me.
as i've posted on my first screenshot i use Garmin Mobile XT for road navigation.
for marine navigation i use MapTech and Dkart.
I have the road map of the Phils as well as some marine charts of navigable lakes and rivers of the world.
I've used them as part of my profession.
but all of them doesn't work if ma consumed na ang load.
naay fix but not realtime: no speed, course, distance run , distance to go etc.
    in other words useless.
and that's when i connect it to the AIS, w/c in turn is connected to one of the real GPS we have onboard.

ako gamit na phone was i-mate Jasjar before and now HTC touch 2, all WinMO.

    edit:
so it must be that i have not configured everything right
