From the interview sa one of the engineers of EVGA, he said this only works with xeon processors.... Prepare to spend $1k for each Xeon 5000 series ($4k for the 5600 series lol). Interesting that if you go xeon route, OC the RAM will be harder since they are buffered (regular RAMS are unbuffered). High end buffered RAMS only have a max multiplier of 10 while lower end buffered RAMS have multis of 8x. naka post nako vid ani na mobo in action using a mountain mods case sa post ur rigs section b4. ang owner himself stated grabi kaayo ang challenge just to set up this mobo... power issue is not ur only problem. Several programs dont even work because of the configuration of this thing. Ingon pod siya grabi ka dugay mo initial post ang mobo.

this pretty much sums this up! if your gonna get this for gaming, your going to waste tons of money, because most don't even support it. If you are into servers and rendering, then yes yes yes.

@andz: in that sense the UD9 would be the more 'practical' waste of money hahahaha.... Although...Gigabyte did say that when u buy the UD9, you can opt to change it for any of their future boards (within the next 5 years). In this sense, its actually like buying 2 boards but you can't get the other one until ur bored with the UD9... haha.

Gigabyte UD9? isn't that like rampage 3 and evga 4-way classified ? =p those aren't really waste of money, since you won't have to spend $1000+++ for a processor, and you just need to buy 1.. instead of 2, and xeon's don't work on UD9.

Although, People seem to praise asus rampage 3 and giga ud9 a-lot over other motherboards because of usb 3.0 and sata 6. This is really simple, if you have a motherboard like for say EVGA 4-way classified which doesn't have Sata 6 nor Usb 3.0, then you just buy the ASUS U3S6 USB/Serial ATA Combo Adapter PCI Express Card, which gives you 2x usb 3.0 and 2x sata 6, which works in almost all x58 motherboards. For only $29 dollars. Simple no? that's it.. lol

ASUS U3S6 USB/Serial ATA Combo Adapter PCI Express Card might say its only compatible with Asus boards, but it has worked with msi, evga, gigabyte, and other branded boards for p55 and x58's

@andz: It's more of the classi 4 way since this has two NF200 chipsets capable of SLI or crossfire at 16x in all lanes (RE3 doesn't have 2 NF 200 chipsets). RE3 isnt also capable of doing 4 way SLI or crossfire with dual slot vgas. actually the UD9 is compatible with Xeon processors albeit not all of them. There are already a selected few in the prestigious 7+Ghz UD9 club using Xeons. This is due to the high OC capability of the UD9! There are even videos of it being able to pump out 1500Volts to the cpu which is just ridonkculous....

so what your saying is, RE3 is still using 1 NF 200? then its already settled, EVGA 4-way classified is superior compared to RE3. with only 1 NF200 it will bottleneck the RE3 motherboard its like EVGA's first 3-way classified with 1 NF200 which has lots of problems.

UD9 can go xeon ? wow lol. i didn't even know that! thanks for the info. Giga UD9 is the board to board to get! o.O

regarding Xeons, i think most high end boards can support Xeons but not all of the Xeons.

yeah i just checked, the evga x58's like the 4-way classified and rampage 3 support xeons.

the sr2 doesn't support non xeon's if only it supported 920's, lots of people would buy it haha
