read again. i was saying some cebuanos, is that the same as cebuanos in general? SOME, i used some, because I dont want to generalize. you were the one whos making hasty generalisations on Tagalogs, that you said tend to hate or look down on others. whats wrong with calling bisaya jokes bisaya jokes? isn't that bisaya afterall? whats wrong with calling them inday jokes? whats wrong with calling us probinsyano? all of us belong to a certain province anyway. i wont mind. because whatever that conotes, i knew its not true.

house speaker is from Manila, senate from Manila, almost all cabinet members are from manila. have you heard of probabilities? they won because they have the numbers. they have more congressman than coming from visayas, and coming from mindanao. its not their fault that geographically they are big and comprises of more regions than visayas and mindanao. and it is not their fault that our representatives from visayas and mindanao can't win in the election, or nominated in the first place. In the case of Cabinet Members. Almost all of the government agencies, the head office is in Manila. The likelihood that senior officials of a given agency is currently working and or residing in Manila because of their job is very high.

development in infrastrature manila vs. the rest of the country. there are infrastratures that are just too impractical to be built here, and to the rest of the country. lrt for one. we dont need it as much as they do. skyways. we dont have the same traffic situation as they have. they are the center for business. it goes with being them as the capital city of our country that investors would like to put up their offices there. and because of that, it necesitates the provision of infrastructure proportionate to their needs. in any part in mindanao I dont think they will be needing it, and base on present highways and roads there, it would not be feasible since they dont have wide roads as in Manila.

In fact Cebu is way better than most of the cities in Luzon.

Progressive cities in Luzon like Manila, Quezon City and Makati to name a few, generate big income thus given huge sum of IRA in return.

The biggest infra projects are not made or initiated by LGU's but by the national government. The biggest roads, the biggest bridges, the best ports are all dependent on the President and his cabinet. No way a small town can afford to build a road if IRA contribution is all they can hope for. For an LGU as far away as the south or as distant as the North, having to crawl his way to get heard amidst the endless trail of red tape, it just gets harder.

Imperial Manila is Imperial Manila and this is true. Politicians and people alike have been complaining about one proof being Lito Osmena winning in a non Bisaya province because he ran on the platform of helping the provinces first. Almost every cebuano politician has at one time complained about imperial manila and these complaints are very valid being they are the ones in the front lines begging for projects. They know how hard it is for someone from the provinces to build a bridge.

Hey let's not build schools in Mindanao because they can manage studying under trees. Let's put the bulk of enlisted personnel and build the best military camps in Metro Manila because the people in Mindanao have been accustomed to war anyway... they can die all they want. Lets build more in Manila because the ROI is higher there. LOL last time I checked government was not a business.

Not to be pro Arroyo or anything but during her time the RDC was very productive because she listened to the needs of the province. During Cory's time Cebu was left to fend for itself after Ruping. I am not making a Noynoy vs Arroyo argument because it is too early to tell and I for one want Noynoy to be better than all presidents combined because how he sucks or achieves will affect us first and foremost.

1st paragraph - am not sorry to be a cebuano because i am not from cebu in the first place, but live here for quite some time. i am bisaya though, and to most tagalogs or foreigner, everyone not tagalog are cebuano, so i guess i am cebuano. i am proud to be bisaya, so it goes to say that i am proud to be cebuano. filipina - maid. the last time i checked, maids belongs to who we call our unsung heroes. its the arroyo government who encourage overseas employment, even acting as agencies for crying out loud, and now we will get offended because their perception of us is "maid". the higher the rate of overseas employment depicts on how inefficient our government is in providing us jobs, but yet, we are even praising it and patronizing it rather than fixing the problem.

2nd paragraph - after what you said in the first paragraph, you did retract and said it wasn't a generalization. LMAO. If thats the game that congressman should play, then our congressmen should dance with the music then. If they werent able to do so, maybe we voted the wrong person. We shouldn't be puting the blame on others for what our government officials fail to do. Nograles was able to make it. Building a network and tie is not something you impose on someone, its something that you earned. As to how, as I have said, dance with the music.

3rd paragraph - am not so sure about cebu port, but i worked before at PPA and I guess Cebu port is the only port that is privatized or under cebu city. am not so sure about that though. i hope someone will give light to this. Everything is dependent to the president in the sense that he is the It one approving everything. of course from the recommendation of his cabinet. and the cabinet from the recomendation of his offices. And you were right though, somewhere along the way there are red tapes and corruption, thats the problem and that is what he promised to lessen if not eliminate.

4th paragraph - oh common. people dont vote for platform. they dont even bother to check it. there are of course some who do track record check, platform check, agenda check, but not enough to make a candidate win. We are crying here for votebuying, ballot switching and pcos tampering. It could posibly one of the three why he didn't win. Or he could not be that popular in the first place. I bet there are also some provinces and cities in Mindanao that he didn't win.

5th paragraph - another hasty generalization again. from where I came from, and that is in Agusan, Mindanao, we dont hold classess under the trees. We have classrooms better than here in Cebu City and infact public schools in our place is more competitive than private schools. I for one is a graduate of a public school, from central elementary school to state u. Accustomed to war? Maybe you should revisit geography. ARMM is just a little part of Mindanao. And the root cause of their war is something older than our history. It cannot be solved overnight. It cannot be eradicated. It can only be managed. But sad to say there are some who gets profit out of it and instead of trying to manage it, do business out of it. Look at the Ampatuans and his hidden govenment issued amunition. where do you think he got that? Gibo knew, or he should know.

6th paragraph - i am not discounting progress made during the time of arroyo. she did deliver, but would have deliver more if not with corruption. same as marcos. he delivered. it was only when he cling to power that he became greedy, or was it imelda.

point is that, we can get along well if we set aside our biases. we are all citizens just the same.

re: minimum wage - cost of living. cebuanos working in manila is paid accordingly, and manileno working in cebu is paid cebu based.

manila film fest is named because it is the city of manila who hosts and organized the event. we can make cebu film fest if our government will create one. am not sure of the "only philippine movies" policy though.

It is worse in other places like JOLO, Zamboanga, Tawi2x, or any far flung area for that matter. I've never been to Agusan but I have been to the places I mentioned with the exception of Tawi2x.
