if the unit is a super brand (just a term I use) like DELL Desktops then the warranty is void if opened, on this case it shouldn't be, locally assembled man sa seller. Ipa DTI na...its gonna be a long process

mao nay nakapaet kung isa jud ka unit imo paliton.. i mean im more comfortable buying parts then assembling them makat-on pako then ang sticker parts by parts ra so wala jud problema. impossible man sad kaau ang CPU case papitlan ug sticker kay murag mao man jud na pinaka lisod maguba. kung mupalit ka ug whole unit nila then sila mutaod murag ana jud na naa jud na sticker sa case to signify nga wala nimo gi open imong CPU case which for them is a ground for voiding the warranty they gave.

sa amo case here at DELL US Public / Large Enterprise / Employee Purchase Support bisag end user gni paablihon namo casing... only an onsite technician from dell would be dispatched if during the troubleshooting step over the phone we have determined that an FRU (Field Replacement Unit) is defective and needs to be replaced... example... motherboard.. processor.. cpu fan...

hard drives, memory, optical drives are considered as CRU (Customer Replaceable Units) and could just be dispatched as POS (Parts Only Service)

and there's no warranty sticker on the side panel

ambot lang sa dealer dri sa Dell Phils which is Accent Micro... Wala pa man ko kasuway palit sa ila mga Dell Systems.... so wala gyud ko masulti about sa sticker na ibutang sa chassis...

Here's one of my conversation from an employee from Gaisano Interpace countrymall

siopao1984: bai, kung mupalit gni customer whole unit wala man lagi mo magbutang sticker sa case ky ang uban gni na stores magbutang... kung magisi ang sticker or ablihan mo ang case ma void ang warranty.

G.I. employee: dili na kinahanglan sir... kasagaran man dre sa mga tigpalit kama.o naman daan so sila na mo.assemble. per part man amo warranty bisag tibuok package pa ang gipalit...

let's try to ask as well sir andz, apc (asia pacific computers) nulbax and apps, about this since sila man gyud mga computer sellers bacin naa sila mahatag na input about this

    OT:

btw sgieman grabe man ka mag up sa thread noh... dugay na nalubong gisaka mo pa.... hehehe

kahibaw man ko unsa ni na store.. anyways pwede raman na ablihan bisan pa ug naa nakabutang na warranty sticker, promise kapila ko nag setup ug unit nya butangan nila sticker, ok raman pa warranty(although seldom ra jud ko kaayo magubaan ug parts even until now). dili man gud tibuok unit ako dalhon basta pa warranty ko, ang parts raman na naa diperensya.

even karon gani basta mupalit ka whole set sa ila ingnan gani ka na dapat sa ilaha nmo i paassemble kai if lain mu assemble or dili sa ilaha d daw maka avail sa 1-month direct replacement. naa ra if magpadala ta.

i do the same thing to some of my clients now. its just some sort of guarantee or assurance ba para sa ilaha na we will be able to give them excellent service the next time ma kig deal ta sa ila/maintainance.

This is just a lame excuse. Even large companies like dell allow their customer to open pcs and take out cards.

bawal na bro.. as long as user serviceable parts okay ra na.. just make sure that to check on the receipt if naay mga indications did2.. if wla, you can fight that.

Desktops are always user serviceable... RAM, HDDs, and VCs....
