Whatever sells...
It will always come down to how to sell one's talent "globally".
I like Freddie Aguilar. He is a very talented man. He's a legend definitely.
Ang iya scope kay local ra jud ug past na iyang panahon. Tingali kung nahuptan siya sa isa ka international manager, ug kamao siya molukso lukso like the talents now-adays, pabukal sa iyang chords, kuyaw na pud unta siya karon!
In fairness, iyang "Anak" kay sikat kaayo, translated in different languages.
Kanya kanyang lugar, kanya kanyang generation, kanya kanyang diskarte, kanya kanyang swerte parehas nila Charice ug Arnel, naa jud ka padulngan.
Ang talent sa mga Filipinos (worldwide na kana nga acknowledged nga naa jud skills ang Pinoy), pero kailangan jud ka nga ma-surround not only the best PR, the best manager. Kailangan edgy so that you can be out there.
Honestly, bilib jud ko Filipino performers. Kulang lang representation. Kadaghan parehas ni Charice sa provinces ahhhh. Swerte lang Charice, nakit-an ug natan-awan dayun sa international scouts. Kung Filipino ang nag-manage sa iyaha, I don't think she will be who she is now. Ug si Arnel pud, daghan man mag-karaoke mas maayo pa niya.
Daghan artists diri sa US nga compare nako sa mga performers sa Pinas, layuuuuu ra kaayo ni sila! Nindot lang sila equipments, from sound engineers, to managers, to make-up artists, puros jud mga kuyaw!!!! Naa lang sila resources. And then not only their talents ra, mahimo namang original kay no two people are always the same.
Sagulan sa advertisements and perti iduk-iduk jud imo utok, munindot jud. Productions from music videos nga gastos, the sky is the limit. They hire the best only and pay the best price. Usahay wala mo kabantay, it's not about the artist himself/herself but yet all the praises tua niya. Mo-invest jud na sila.
Mag-kopyahay raman na sila mga Western talents. Kopya pud ang Koreans oi. Look at them how they dress. They just can't copy to really swing out there, ipabuka ang chords kay wala man na sila chords so no choice but to make their own.
Heard of Japanese and Korean rap lately? Naa pud na sila. Actually western man kaayo na sila. And I do not see anything wrong with that.
Even other people find it as "copy" basta pasok..... who cares?
Lady Gaga, ka-kopyador ana. Ma-weirday lang gud. Pasok ra lage.
Si Beyonce, edgy and sexy but those moves are from their well paid choreographers who travel around the world to master-create those moves.
