akong theory why ning close ang wendy's... kay dili sila 24hours. their first store should have been outside the malls. then open sila 24hours. salad bar... baked potatoes... hahay... memories!!!

Suki nako sa akong wife ng wendy's sa kamias cor EDSA sa una. Morag 4x a week mi mag dinner diha.

go donuts should have started small. dako man dayon gud sila. mahal pa gyud ilang location. tan-awa gud ng dunkin. sauna daghan silang branches. but karon nagkagamay na lang. mister donut nahimong kiosks na lang.

Go Donuts had a pretty good 5 year run here in Cebu. Business-wise, that would be considered a success, more especially if you take into consideration the Cebuano's penchant of growing tired of things and tastes after a few months or so. Their BTC branch saw customers from several municipalities away lining up to buy boxes for several years.

Nangita na lang sab tingali og something different and something more practical ang Cebuano taste buds....unsa na pud kaha ang sunod......sure wish Wendys, Burger King and Ted's LaPaz Batchoy comes to town.....

sad to say a big part of a resto's faith here in cebu has much to do with it's pricing and that of it's direct competitors. you see cebuano's don't go for "lami" but for food that has a lesser price than the other choices. go nuts doughnuts are good but dunkin and mister doughnuts are far more cheaper. if you read the restaurant reviews you will notice that a lot of the comments contain reactions on pricing. there is always a price to pay for good food, good service and good ambiance.

I agree. But its not just in food but in basically everything. People here are 'tihik' (especially if you compare them with people in Manila).

KK chances here are very slim because of that. Too bad.

I think its the marketing strategy of GoNuts that failed. Location wise, dili man ingon ana kadaghan ug customer traffic sa BTC. As compared guro kung niopen sila sa Ayala and market their store like a place where you can lounge and eat, chill and eat, etc. Daghan man mga mahalon na kan-anan pero nikita man. Starbucks and other Coffee Shops are good examples. Depende ra guro na sa pagdala.

i agree 100%. with coffee your 100 pesos goes a long way. with just an order you get the ambiance, get to mingle with the coffee crowd which are dominated by yuppies and rich young families and to top it all there is no feeling that i have to leave the place even after i finish my 100 peso only order. Besides, we cannot compare coffee and the Gonuts. The margin of coffee is at least 4 times bigger than the margin for donuts. I know, because I also sold coffee in my restaurant.

i use to have a steak house and since i was the only one then that offered very affordable steaks my business did good for 4 years until i decided to close down. but hey that's another story.

bitaw.. I agree gyud sa marketing strat nila.. all the location are not feasible to stand for a kind of business..

if maka ingon sila nga ang mga cebuano are tihik..

    hey think again!!
