hmmm. the easiest thing to know is what are you feeding your dog before it started on that hypoallergenic diet.

if it's dog food check on the ingredients list. look at the main ingredients. if it contains chicken, corn, gluten, egg byproduct. these are the usual culprits on dogs getting allergic reactions. then those are the things you will try to avoid.

if not try making a little batch and observe for a few days, if nothing happens then good, if the dog show signs of a reaction then stop.

this is the 1st time ive encountered dogfood allergy since ive started keeping dogs like 20yrs ago. she had been feeding on country value dogfood like for a year then started scratching. tried holistic recipe, vitality, acana but she still scratches her skin particularly at the sides of her abdomen. i'm trying go natural now hopefully this might work but too early to tell. also tried feeding her chicken neck and back since monday and my helper told me that some parts of her skin turned red so i stoppped feeding her chicken necks for now. could it be she's allergic to chicken or the dogfood? already spend quite alot finding a cure for her problem. btw she has no tick or flea problem.

hey guys, question! when man ideal na ako i-mix ang rice meals for my puppy she just turned 2 months old unya ganahan unta ko mu-mix in ug rice/sud-an para di kaayo sakit sa bulsa.

if i may suggest... introducing rice ang table food would not be a good idea for your pup, most casses it would cost you more than buying a puppy dogfood.... at first ganahan na mu eat imo puppy sa sud-an but dili kaayo na sa rice kay timplada naman ang sud-an ang mahitabo ani dili ni cya mu stick to one putahe resulta mag sige ka ug pangita ug lain2x putahe kay mu abot jud ang time na dili na ganahan mu kaon the same sud-an, nya medyo baho sad iyang popo.... lahi ra jud ang puppy dogfood kung mao iya ma andan kay it is made specifically to our puppies so mas nutritius compare sa sud-an then dali rapud pag prepare likewise dali rapud pag hipus n case dili ma hurot nya iya popo dili sad kaayo baho..

try lang stick to dogfood ive tried this to my 2 shih tzu wa jud na cla ma anad ug table food until now ako nalang ang mag guol kay kusog kaayo mu kaon sa dogfood nya mas healthier cla ...

unsa mas mau ipakaon sa GSD? medyo slim cya, nya ako pakaon niya kay pedigree ra..
nahan ta ko at least mutambok lng, royal canin mn gd sa una, pero d jd makaya sa budget, kusog2 pd mukaon.. lamat daan!

looks like your dog is allergic to chicken next question would be what else?
i believe some dog breeds are pre disposed to be more allergic compared to others. ex. some dobermans are allergic to fleas.
it could always be an environmental issue. the place your dog is staying. is it dry, damp, humid or full of plants maybe.

if it really bothers you the easiest way would be having your dog check with the vet.
because in the long run the experimenting with different dog foods and the frustrations of failing to identify what really is the cause of the problem and the walfare of your dog may be more costly than having an allergy test.
