Maybe he means something like Youtube being a prototype for the television of the future. No controlled and pre-filtered media news networks, No advertisments (hopefully.), No kapamilya vs. kapuso crap.

or maybe he meant something portable...? his example was the iPad...
and sites like Youtube are running.

Some tv network are running something like this on the internet and called, Video on Demand, mostly.

and for portability of devices, there are tablet PCs available as well, windows and mac..

"1.) When will the time come when we push the power on button of the pc, the screen will instantly load just like the tv and 2.) when we click on a video, we can't see the player doing some buffering but instead instantly play the video, just like when we select a channel on tv".

Google is working on a specialized netbook that will instantly display the screen when you press its power button. It will be powered by their upcoming chrome os. No news yet on when that will be released.
For 2.)
The telcos must provide high capacity network connection such that navigating the internet would be like switching television channels.

Video buffering during streaming is an issue of bandwidth--the more bandwidth you have, the less buffering time you need. Ergo, in countries where internet bandwidth is high, they don't experience buffering (or they experience it very seldom).

Since bandwidth is basically like land (i.e. real estate) in the real world, naturally, in this monetary system we are living in right now, not everyone in the world will have the bandwidth he or she wants--it will be subject to his/her economic status in society. So for the TS' argument, there's only one solution--he/she has to get rich, so that he can live in a country where the bandwidth is huge and affordable, and he can have his "insta-videos".

^^^Yeah, but the thread starter is basically asking, when will the time come when the technology will be so advanced that very cheap yet very high capacity bandwith will be available to the masses. But not the how he can have a tv like experience when browsing the internet today.
