@cerebus, i think both films dragged their feet somewhat but both still had their charms... and I agree with you tha Il Mare is superior in a way because after all, The Lake House was adapted from it.

i never felt il mare is dragging. it has an interesting story keep you guessing on how would it end. and that makes lake house dragging because i know the story already. il mare is better than lake house for a lot of reason other than the it's the original: (1) nice mailbox, (2) nice house, (3) nice twist (i thought it has a tragic ending) (4) nice soundtrack (a hallmark of k-films), (5) nice cinematography (the best i seen in k-films).

to be fair with lake house, it has it moments. just moments.
