gud pm earl!i would prefer a GSD,malinois,dobermann or rott.kay these are multi purpose farm dogs that u could do an all around work specially guarding.however,the first two mentioned are my top candidates based on the capabilities & our temperate climate here.kay the dobe,although a good one,is single coated breed which render it with no protection during the cold nights under a farm setting & the rott would easily overheat during a hot day...gudluck in finding one earl
