my friend has a problem with her t-mobile htc mytouch 3g (smart) phone. she got the phone from US and got unlocked using a key code given from someone in the US pud. she is using pre-paid btw. right now the phone is working (can call, send sms) but her load is consumed even without using. if using Sun sim, the message "7210: You do not have enough load to complete this transaction. Please reload immediately." is received hourly. i think the phone requests something to the network, something like OTA? if using Smart sim pud, wlay msg mareceive but mahurot lang ang load.

is there a solution to this?

i have done enough research already and came across OTA, and an info that android has OTA support but i don't know if this can be disable in any way sa android.

syncronization settings were already disabled. naa pay lain?

try this,make a dummy apn,go to settings then wireless & networks thenmobile networks then access point after ana type anything sa name ug sa apn then save.i tried it before and it works d na sya mu internet hope will work for you

update:
maka create ug dummy (another apn) pero same ra ghapon mahurot ang load. anyway, i'll try to inform her again and better irestart after setting dummy apn and monitor longer maybe a day. syaro.

(actually naa ko sa layo, imsg ra nako ang solution. sort of tech support pero wlay bayad. haha) btw, ang android version diay kay 1.6 (Donut).

ah speaking of APN, bai king how did you setup your 3G and MMS?

I'm on Globe postpaid and di ba sa APN kay internet.globe.com.ph

how do you setup your MMS? kelangan man ta mu create a separate APN unya di pa jud pwede ma activate two APN profiles at the same time di ba? I need your suggestion and tips on this.

ihave before 2 apn's setting but now im on unlimited data for my phone so no probs na internet is alway on

Turning off the 3G when not in use solves this problem. Did that to my Milestone and it worked perfectly. Now i don't have lost prepaid loads or billed excess for unknown data service on my postpaid account.
