madmike is right. The swift is more luxurious than the Alto. Also, the ride quality (comfort) of the Swift is much nicer compared to cheaper sub-compacts such as the Picanto and Alto.

Originally designed and manufactured by Maruti - India. Since Suzuki partly owns Maruti, they just put the Suzuki badge and market it as a Suzuki here in the Phils. Saves them time and money for redesign and retooling. Other car manufacturers also do that. Toyota for example markets the Avanza as Toyota but originally it is a Daihatsu. Thats the reason why its cheaper.
