    Very disturbing picture indeed!

I think the page is simply an expression of the author's hate towards Jesus and probably Christianity. The question is whether the FB management is willing to allow that kind of material in FB, material that clearly promotes hate and prejudice.

Needless to say, the author is pretty immature.

maypa imong buhaton ang suggestion ni motownkid..perhaps FB IS NOT composed of seriously biased devout people..unlike other social networking sites or forums.
I guess you could say that FB is neutral about this, apparently not censoring this kind of material in the site as of this moment. But, I don't know... I think there ought to be a limit to materials that are just outrageous, such as this one. Everybody is aware that Jesus is revered by millions of Christians all over the world. The objective of the author here seems obvious -- to ridicule, or make fun of, the person of Jesus, and indirectly Christians who believe in him and follow him. The question is, would FB tolerate that in their site? Would FB tolerate any kind of material that purposefully promotes hate, prejudice and mockery?

I guess the bottom line here is whether or not there should be absolute freedom for people to post any kind of material on FB no matter how it might offend other people.

It clearly bashes the Christian religion. I don't understand why you don't see that.

As you know, Indonesia is largely an Islamic country, with most of their youths schooled in madrassas (religious schools), which are mostly funded by Saudi Arabia. I think it was through this funding channel that the extreme form of Islam called Wahhabism infiltrated into Indonesian culture. It's also widely known that Saudi school books teach that Jews and Christians are monkeys and pigs. (I can tell you that every ethnic cleansing starts with the de-humanization of the hated community by calling them dogs or pigs or monkeys)

I can understand the Christian reaction to this Facebook page. But one must be circumspect as not to go overboard in terms of reaction. It's very, very easy to stoke the fire of a religious war. All it needs is the slightest excuse. You may win the war in cyberspace but then wonder why churches in Indonesia are getting burnt down by molotov cocktails.
I think that's a very good point. A particular ethnic or religious group will first start looking down at their perceived enemies as little less than humans. From there, it becomes easier to disrespect them, call them names, and insult them. The extreme consequence of this is the one you mentioned, violence, and even murder.

I agree, the proper response here for Christians is I think to respond maturely. I visited the page earlier and my impression of the author or authors is that he or they seems immature. But someone mentioned here that one of the authors is married, so that boggles me. I mean, in a more civilized exchange of ideas, people often respect one another even as they disagree in their views.

Its about being BIAS . You only limit your resources sa religion na issue maybe because it acknowledges your favor but deep in the core it is about BREEDING HATRED .

HATRED has no room anywhere else .

Even if I am a devout Catholic .... pero ang issue karon is not about JESUS CHRIST , I would still react since it is about HATRED and not about DISRESPECTING the person I respect .
