ganahan kog biking, naa tay bike parking area, where u can lock n safe, naa say bike lane, naa say shower room after biking, wa jud nay traffic, den plant trees along d road, para dli pud kaau init, 1 car per family ra jud, transit instead of jeepney, paraiso na jud ni, mura na nig naboo ang cebu if ingon ani
In my opinion, before we propose a radical alternative we must consider how to make the transition as smooth as possible. I believe the best way to slowly phase out jeepneys is to stop accepting franchise applicants sa LTO... we have more than enough jeepneys in our streets. We always have this nationalistic propaganda about jeepneys. On how it is a symbol of pinoy's ingenuity, but the way i see it, the jeepney is a symbol of filipino's profit-first, human-welfare is only secondary mentality. We certainly can do much better than this. but we're held back by obsolete value systems.
Think of how many life hours you've wasted because you are riding a very inefficient transportation system everyday.

hehehe.. reminds me of vietnam... though murag socialist ra kaau na.. bt still, i like your idea.. wa pa jud pollution..
ahm.. my personal opinion lang ha, it seems cebuano PUJ n TAXI drivers are the worst in the country... grabe pud, mo stop man sa tunga sa dalan dapit sa jeepney stop para mo pickup pasahero.. magbottleneck hinoon ang traffic sa isa ka lane...

monitoring the roads with our men.. so that walay mag pa ugatay... strict enforcement on rule and regulations...
I am having a great time reading whats on peoples mind about this problem not only in Cebu but all over the country.
Honestly, after reading all your comments it just goes back to , we know what the problems are, from the comments posted the most common are - Phasing out Jeepneys, Phasing out old and smog belchers, Strict implementation of law or rules, personal responsibility, implementation of mass transit system so on .....
The reason I specifically mentioned lets not talk about road widening or flyovers is because these are the common quick solutions and not one for the long run and can we even widen more roads? Another thing is within the last couple of years I have yet to see a finished road widening program and for the most part we can't do a major road widening program because Cebu never planned for it, do u notice we start the process and for some reason the project stops because of agreements not agreed ..... We never had a good City planning program to address major traffic.
I believe there is always a better way to say "Change" , but one clear problem is resistance to Change. Do you guys know why jeepneys started , simple wiki it ....
Jeepneys are the most popular means of public transportation in the Philippines. They were originally made from US military jeeps left over from World War II and are well known for their flamboyant decoration and crowded seating. They have also become a symbol of Philippine culture.
When American troops began to leave the Philippines at the end of World War II, hundreds of surplus jeeps were sold or given to local Filipinos. The Filipinos stripped down the jeeps to accommodate several passengers, added metal roofs for shade, and decorated the vehicles with vibrant colors and bright chrome hood ornaments.
The jeepney rapidly emerged as a popular and creative way to re-establish inexpensive public transportation, which had been virtually destroyed during World War II. Recognizing the widespread use of these vehicles, the Philippine government began to place restrictions on their use. Drivers now must have specialized licenses, regular routes, and reasonably fixed fares.
My 2 cents:
This Mode of Transportation was from after World War 2 .... That Long, imagine late 40's and the idea came from surplus of vehicles from the war , as much as I understand this is a symbol , the question is , Is it working to ease traffic and give an effective flow to our transport system today? U answer it
If it aint working why can't we start fixing the problem. Systems of the past may not be a good system today.
Part of the problem is resistance to change ( im used to this way of life why should I change ), part of it Culture = a love for surplus ( meaning if I can use old parts to run why not, without thinking of consequence ) , part of it has to do with politics, part personal responsibilty ( no one should be exempt from law ) so on ..... folks you guys have given a refreshing perspective of the problem and solution
Lets keep em coming who knows someone may use it
We understand you can't leave people high and dry when possibly lessening Puj's - Jeepneys to be exact, if the change done then lets look into alternative source of income for these people. But I believe Government must have a strong hand in deciding what is best for its people. a group cannot dictate goverment who were voted on to do a job although we can at times remind them of their jobs.
As heavy of a heart for me to say because we are talking about peoples lives but Change need to be made, sacrifices done, and awakening to accept to have a better city , country..
If we can come up with a good effective mass transit system why not... the stopping in the middle of the streets, the constant adding of inadequate vehicles running, the smog created, undisciplined citizens and govt workers are just not acceptable.
Its funny but I keep repeating this that a friend once mentioned if our Traffic Rules were Suggestions
Should I make a left on a no left turn sign... hmmmm maybe I will maybe not ....
We Filipinos are better than this , right?
Folks Please add more suggestions We'd love to hear what u have to say

Master Yoda's Quote “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
1. limit the PUJ nga mo solud sa downtown
most people ni suggest ug strict rules, mo go pud ko ana.. like super strict..
