i believe the Mayor only want's to encourage the use of skywalks ... it's SAFER ... and to make it easily accessible to children ... the elderly and the disabled ... ...

magamit rana ug escalators nah dugay nana na rumor way before jonas cortes was the mayor. kahibaw naka sa mga tawo tapulan mugamit sa skywalk kay kapoy saka sa hagdanan maypa labang diretso wala pay kapoy.. if and when this becomes a reality then magamit na jud intawon ni. pero ang problema ani ang mga kawatan mag pista sa escalator... maayo ani kada skywalk naay mura police outpost para magduha2 ang mga kawatan pag himolbol sa mga parts sa escalator na pwede mabaligya..

problem sad ang mga homeless na anha magpuyo sa skywalks.. luoy sila the government should get them out of there before this "escalatorized" skywalks pushed through..

murag wala man ko makabantay ug skywalk nga ni labang ug karsada sa Makati.
ang naa didto kay ilawm sa yuta man moagi. Like sa Ayala avenue, if you cross to the other side, under Ayala avenue ka moagi. Naay stairs and escalators for going down and going up.
along delaRosa street(parallel sa Ayala avenue) naay skywalk up to landmark/greendbelt then mo connect sa SM EDSA then adto sa MRT terminal sa EDSA. going up this skywalk naay stairs naa pud escalators.

Murag dili ni applicable sa Mandaue. Tungod sa ka gamay sa karsada ang mga pedestrian mo prefer gyud ug labang diretso, risking their life and limb, kay mas duol man. Sa makati kay dagku man ang karsada, ig molabang gyud ka (Ayala o Makati ave.) by the time mo abut ka sa tunga, ni GO na ang traffic light. Fast pace pud ang work time didto. So, sagol dagan if mag lakaw ka.

But if you go to smaller streets sa Makati, puede ra ka molabang sa karsada, walay skywalk and walay tunnel para labang to the other side.

Naa ba diay karsada sa Mandaue nga as wide as Makati avenue, Ayala avenue, EDSA avenue?

aw kung mao na buhatan nalang underground walk para labang mas nice bitaw nah kay walay samok... pina NY galing lang subway to ila didto.. hehehe
