Last time I was on this thread I really wanted to air out my complaints... though I'm in a good mood right now kay narelease na gyud intawn akong *EDIT: LAST PAY, even though pag October sa 2009 pa ko niresign nya by December of that same year na process na nako akong clearance, nadawat nako gnha, wow, talk about good and fast processing... anyway here's my 2 cents on Sykes...

In a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 as the highest, I'd give Sykes a rating of 5, or hangyo 5.5.

Actually it was higher before I resigned, unfortunately it came to a point of conflict of interests, I needed a better compensation specially nga manganakay akong uyab last year, and honestly the pay really isn't enough to give your child a decent life, with "decent" being defined as that you can give your child all the basic necessities without resorting to "utang", they were offering too low and I felt it wouldn't be enough, so I resigned and I never ever regretted doing it.

I really had no qualms with how Sykes was run when I was still an employee, because I didn't really care how the HR did their job, I was doing well on my own, I wasn't struggling with staying with the account because I could keep up with the "HIGH" metrics being asked of you and the seemingly absurd "HYBRID" multi-splits but still the same pay way of operating things, I can attribute the positive experience mostly to the people and the environment and also I was blessed enough to have been assigned to mostly competent Team Leads, Trainers, QAs, etc., it was really a FUN environment, though not necessarily stress free, on the contrary, most people were rather worried about metrics and also some added and IMHO, absurd "COMPLIANCE METRICS".

Anyway I'm rambling about anything and everything now, so to cut the story short let me just create a gist to what I'm trying to say.

If you are looking for a FUN environment, and you don't mind stupid rules (you get Hazard Pay if your shift starts or ends between 10PM to 6AM, but if your shift starts 9:30PM and ends at 5:30PM you don't get a damned cent), worthless pathetic HR (who, and I assure you will lose your Important Documents like Birth Certificate etc.), too much personal politics just to get a promotion (you can stay for your probationary period and date or even make a client with the initials D***y L** your boyfriend, and I assure you after 6 months you'll be a TL, as compared to some people I know who have always wanted to be promoted and are actually good agents and have stayed for 3 or more years and yet are still agents because they don't kiss ass...), and sometimes arrogant and incompetent Supervisors/Managers/etc2x (I know of certain TL's and AM's not necessarily in the same account tell their agents to literally cheat to pass the metrics, and when the agent's got caught, they were faster than Pontius Pilate to wash their hands)...

I assure you, when you hit 6 mos. to 1 year here, you'll know by heart what I'm talking about.

It was a good stay, I can still wholeheartedly say that I'm proud to be "I WAS SYKES" even will all the crap happening just mainly because even with all those negative things, there are still a lot of positives with the company, too bad that when I look at things retrospectively, most of the negatives just stands out like a pimple in the middle of your forehead...

Again, this is just my 2 cents, or rather, 2 dollars given the length... we are entitled to our own opinions... over and out... Thank you Sykes Asia Inc.
