You know guys, let's just accept our PC's the way they are. Overclocking shortens the processors life because of the excess heat generated. Some technicians told me that after overclocking, your PC will just go nuts after one year. But anyways, dont 'overclock'.

arisarnado: the technician who told you that obviously was a dumba$$. No offense to you ( a lot to him) I would also suggest that you stop "preaching" whatever that technician told you if you value what others think about you.

The core value of overclocking is to squeeze the potential out of the hardware you have. But i don't find the need to prove that to you. I'm telling you this so you won't get misled. whatever that dumba$$ told you, forget it. You've got access to the internet right? try to do some research if you really want to find out what it is with overclocking that gets people hooked.

oh and my 5600-peso (price at that time) 2500+ processor is performing at much-more-expensive-3200+-levels .. and it's already a year since i OCed it. hmmm...

What do you mean? Do you know what overclocking is?
Just in case, its a way of running CPU (GPU, Memory or any device) clock speed OVER its RATED stock. That means if an Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz running @ 2.4GHz is NOT overclocked.

AMD 486DX2-100 @ 120MHz (4 years OC)
Intel Pentium 3 550 @ 825MHz (5-6 years)
Intel Pentium 3 700 @ 1001MHz (5 years)
AMD Athlon 1.0GHz @ 1.425GHz (4-5 years)
AMD Athlon 1.4GHz @ 1.53GHz (4 years)
AMD Athlon XP 1600 @ 2200 (2 years)
AMD Athlon XP 1700 @ 2600 (1 1/2 years)

I'm using Athlon XP 2500 @ 3200, 2.3GHz, running 24/7 right now.

don't expect all people care how long our CPU last... heheheheh... you can't stop me. BTW, my cpu has been overclocked for over a year now and still rockin' mate!!!

If my system break i'll get another one! everyone's computer that are overclocked are not the way they are anymore, its how it is!

Crashy, do you have AMD Athlon 2500+ MP Processor? I need one for serious overclocking purpose... I read a lot of article about the advantages of this chip... Let me know! I've been trying to find one here in Hong Kong, unfortunately there is one shop that sell those but now out of stock... He had 40 units and sold 9 to end-users and 30 to company that needed the chips and 1 left in his shop as a display and had been used as sample...
