Accordingly there is no Provision in the Constitution that requires the taking oath should be presided by the Chief Justice ... its only a Tradition ....

AFAIK, tehankee known to be the courts activists, pirmi niya gi birahan si macoy.... mao diha nanumpa si cory, kay si CJ Aquino is know to be Marcos cronies... sayo ang gibuhat ni cory, swerte lang giusab nila ang Constitution...

for me CORY IS ONE of the WORST PRESIDENT ever 2nd to marcos.... GMA is just third...

still kung tarong siya nga leader... respeto siya sa korte..

Cory Aquino one of the worst president??

Come on guys think first before you open your mouths.

Remember that post-EDSA I, the Philippines was trying to recover from the excesses of Ferdinand Marcos.

Marcos left the country in shambles, in ruins, and whatever you may describe it. This explains why there were numerous coup attempts against Cory. Even if Cory was not the president that time, there would still be numerous coup attempts post-Marcos.

You can't expect Cory Aquino to fix everything in just a few days, not even in her six years of presidency.

Even until today,the remnants of the Marcoses are still there.

You can't expect Cory to wipe out corruption -- those are remnants of 21 years of Marcos administration which has become a culture among us.But then again Cory Aquino gave us a legacy and that is the restoration of our democracy. She pave the way for bringing back our country into normalcy.

She was a transition president. You cannot expect her to be the president who will prioritize building homes for squatters, LRT, MRT, Airports, Ports, Bridges, Flyovers, Tunnels, Skyscrapers, Freeports, IT Parks, malls, etc..etc.. and whatever it is in the name of progress. That was the task for the next president after democracy has been restored and everything put back into place.

The presidency of Fidel Ramos for me was the beginning of the reawakening of the Philippines after Cory Aquino restored our system. Sadly though, the momentum was stopped with the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis and the election of ERAP.
