so meaning, it's hardware unlocked? is this the iphone apple sells at a higher price because it isn't locked? so if i update the firmware, it won't lock itself?

just wanted to clarify bro coz a software unlock will brick an iphone on update, and, it's kinda hard downgrading the iphone's baseband version to an older one so that a software unlock would be possible...
