Im supprised that no one has logged on with any input. This concerns all the people that use the net and all the people who live in the philippines. Should there be such severe penalties for chatting chancing.? Can the philippines afford to prosecute all the future accused cybersex chatters.? Should the Govt. enact new laws in favor of the catholic doctrin. What is pornographic.? what is a recruiter? the current penalty for recruiters is life. Who will feed all the alleged future recruiters when they are in jail for life? what is worse. a. a life of street prostitution?...or b. a life of cyber chatting?
lets discuss the pros and cons of this issue that is now before us. This is not the Dark Ages.... there is no censorship boards, please let the world know how u feel. since u own a computer, and might be the next accused.... what do u think? let me know. I know how i feel and would enjoy sharing with u my thinking on where this could go and what the the result the future whitch hunt will have on the philippine economy.

personally, i am against the cybersex craze that a lot of pinays are in to because
1. it is lustful and immoral. its considered sin in the eyes of the Lord and also to a lot of us.

3. it further degrades the filipina "pride"

on the issue:

its probably useless to enact new laws in favor of the catholic doctrine IF there will be no strict punishments to the offenders. mas better if apilan pud ug harsher punishments ang offenders, including ang babaye (kung iya gi buhat kay sa iyang own will, kugn gi pugos lang, then dili siya apilon). preferably latuson (the kind of whip used against Jesus when he was about to be crucified) na silang tanan 10000 times or forced labor. but... Comission on Human Rights will cry wolf!

kung naay magpa gamit, naa man gyuy mo gamit. (this is true even in muslim nations, who's supposed to have the strictest code of conduct in dealing with morality)

lisud mo say ug "NO" kung ang gi storya-an kay kwarta na. (kung hangol ug kwarta, then mo kapit gyud na sa patalim)

i am against warrantless invasion of privacy just for the sake of curbing cybersex.
this could be abused.

Personal believes change constantly throughout the history of mankind. Obviously , u r leaning towards the Catholic believe, 500 years ago the cartholic believes that the earth is the center of the universe and prosicuted people who disagreed.

i'd like to think i am a filipino with a liberal mind. cybersex, for me, is not a big issue. it's almost like the real *** you get from physical contact. i don't see anything wrong about doing it at your own privacy. using your own computer/ internet connection/ webcam etc.

let's be frank. people get horny sometimes. if masturbation proves to be a boring outlet, why prevent people from taking advantage of the internet. what better way to release it than with a total stranger miles away. given that you are an intelligent and responsible adult, the choice is yours. it's not only filipinos who do it. i don't believe it degrades any pride of some sort. how boring it is to hinder one's sexuality because the top of one's head is covered with the thought that it is immoral and all that...duh...frankly i don't give a damn and preaching does not work for me.

if you do it in an internet cafe, it's your choice. you're risking getting caught. now, if a secluded cafe does cybersex for business, that's another story and that's where the ever "good and moral" people should come in. filipinos/filipinas shouldn't do it if they don't want to. it would be a waste of time and funds for the philippine government to focus on being a watch dog for these matters at the moment. there are a lot of pressing problems in the country which are more visible which need immediate action.

In this world with ubiquitous vast technology such as the internet, it is just normal for people to make use of these things for their convenience and advantage. For whatever purpose, as long as we are not gravely stepping other people’s toes or if we are to maximize the impact, endangering our nation’s security(?!), it is our right to make use of this multi-purpose technology to which they are mainly invented. Life became more convenient, distance became closer, relationships were built or made stronger, knowledge broader, etal.

Pornography, as defined is any material that is used for sexual arousal. Cybersex is one. It is a personal issue and a choice, therefore government intervention is not necessary unless used for personal gain to the extent of profiting AND taking advantage of using young teens or children whether with consent or not, therefore that would be prostitution and pedophile.

I agree with @northstar, to enact laws against this issue is not much of a priority, as of the moment. There are more severe issues that need more of our government’s money and attention.

But this cybersex craze is being utilized by gays who try to lure and of course " cheat " on foreigners. Exposing their fake boobs for the victim to send them money and stuffs.
