Natural phenomenon ... 5th time na gne naku ni nga sighting hehe... due to ice crystals mani by the cloud called "cirrostratus" (sk2 ba?), a very thin cloud composed of fine grain ice crystals.. ang so called halo kae parehag kinaiya sa rainbow, altough 'rain' ang mu refract sa light instead of 'ice'..

does that imply that the clouds above the Philippines has ice composition? i'm asking this coz I don't think ice can form in a temperature above 30 degrees C.
Yes, there's ice in the upper clouds (i.e. cirrus etc.) even at the equator, and at the top of thunderheads (which is why, even in the tropics, you sometimes get hail). A very good example of how temperature drops with altitude is Mt. Kilimanjaro (a mountain with a snowcap in Africa). Unfortunately though, it doesn't have much of its old icecap anymore.
