Haha omg you are quite ignorant of pre-colonial Filipino society. It sounds like a Gaia the way you describe it but we were far from an egalitarian society even before the Spaniards came. We had the datus and the elites on top the same as we do today. The difference between these "evil" foreigners is they managed to create a system that harnesses greed to generate wealth for everyone whereas we pretentious people because of our hypocrisy, concoct reasons to blame other people for our screwed up situation. It's just as I suspected, that you would blame evil foreigners for ruining things. That's expected because that's also a known attribute of our people - never accept blame, always blame others Hala sige, padayon.. then things will never change in this messed up country of ours. It's not just the leaders, it's the people too. The sooner we accept that, the sooner we can change ourselves and put the blame for our own society squarely on those who deserve it: us!
