Fight Club is one of my favorite movies of all time! Naa ko DVD ani!!! Sige,, nice pud naay Fight Club diri Cebu. Kinahanglan naay mga rules:

    1. You don't talk about fight club.
    2. You don't talk about fight club.
    3. When someone says stop, or goes limp, even if he's just faking it, the fight is over.
    4. Only two guys to a fight.
    5. One fight at a time.
    6. They fight without shirts or shoes.
    7. The fights go on as long as they have to.
    8. If this is your first night at fight club, you have to fight.

In the movie, Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) is Jack's (Edward Norton) alter-ego. When Jack was fighting with Tyler outside the bar, he was actually beating up himself until the spectators joined in and that's where the "Fight Club" was formed. When Jack saw Tyler Durden and Marla Singer having *** in his room, it was actually him.

Although in the novel, the narrator didn't introduced his real name. You'll understand the story if you read the book.

"Fight Club" is not actually about men meeting together and fighting in some basement, but it was about personal crisis on everyday life, gender identity, anti-capitalism, alter-egoes, anti-god, psychological issues and a lot more. Also, "Fight Club" is about the desire for trouble and chaos. "Fight Club" is also about the lament of men who only grew up with their mothers and abandoned by their fathers.

“If you’re male and you’re Christian and living in America, your father is your model for God. And if you never know your father, if your father bails out or dies or is never at home, what do you believe about God?"

The themes, motifs, and symbols are very complicated to discuss here. It takes 1 semester in English class to understand this just like reading any Shakespeare plays. Read this essay called, "Private Satisfactions and Public Disorders: Fight Club, Patriarchy, and the Politics of Masculine" by Henry A. Giruox, a student from Penn State University, and I hope this will help you to understand the message about "Fight Club".
