not really inappropriate, if you check posts here about suggestions on getting a rig, most would say "pag 1366 nalang para future-proof gamay"; this is to whom the title is targetted to. i have to agree there really isn't future-proofing when it comes to electronics but if you think about it, the gap between the sockets are too close, not many adopted the 1366 socket right away when it was released due to the extreme price and after finally getting one; this is what they get - another socket. you said it yourself, future proof means different to each person, and this is what it meant to me...

sa ako lang no, i think the 2011 socket is fake or purely coincidence lang ang year 2011 to LGA2011(?) but then, these are coming from third party companies so nothing is confirmed.

mao sd, but for me, i would just ask the customer what there actual budget is. And if they want a Quad Core or Dual Core, or 1366 sockets.

What is the main difference using a 775 Dual Core, 775 Quad Core, i7 Quad Core and a AMD Dual Core, and Phenom Quad Core.

Would you gain good gaming performance from Dual Core to Quad Core ? at 4ghz? or is there even an actual good game that works with Quad Core?

When people ask about future proof sometimes, they think future proof something like "What's the best right now, thats available and is faster then all others" Even if the new Sandy comes out and replaces 1366, the people who got 1366 won't buy the new sockets, because there isn't even a game currently that can bottlneck a 1366 i7 920, even crysis.

Playing Crysis @ i7 920 @ 3ghz or 4ghz or 5ghz = gets you 1-2 fps difference.

its from experience lang ha, many na kaau ko na sell mga 1366 socket motherboards, because it is faster then the i5's and lower sockets.

Customer: Yo, 1366 jud fastest ? Sure ka ? diba kato socket sa i5 mas new man to ?
andz: yes boss, 1366 fastest jd, sak2 sd mas new ang i5, but its for mainstream, less faster but gamay ra jud difference. mas mahal man sd ang 1366.
