that's more than enough baya ang E8400 for most apps...kaning ako bisan unsa basta modagan lang decently ang Maya & EIAS payts na...wala gani ko mag SSD polds, mahal kaayo...velociraptors lang ni akong gamit...

no surprise there OP, we're talking about technology here... permi (dli fermi) bya gyud na naay bago mo release. even if you get the 2011 socket as soon as it releases, layu ra ang 1 year obsolete na pud na idol.

Why does this come as a surprise to a lot of people, Intel & AMD has been doing this socket changing when there is no competition on the target market segment 3 years for a socket seems like a decent life there will still be 1366 processors with more performance and new features but things like quad channel DDR3 and 32 PCIE lanes will remain with the 2011. AMD played us well with the AM socket as well.
Whats surprising here is that Intel marketed the 1366 as future proof and they played us well, AMD will be doing the same thing if they are on the same position with intel sadly they are still playing the catch up game and is behind for 1 or 2 generations in terms of processing capabilities.
Although the LG775 has a very long lifespan and still holding its own compared to the more expensive i7+X58 platform. 2011 will be a good year for me to upgrade to socket 2011 + quad channel DDR3 + 3x GTX485's
