i have a suggestion, basin pwede ingon ani na lang.
sci fact movies must be accurate.
Does The Time Traveller's Wife counts?A movie can have realistic science, and still be enjoyable. No movie can be completely scientifically accurate of course, so balance is key.
The answer to that question lies here:

Wala man mi ga force nga dapat totally accurate dyud ang sci fi movies. It's a given man dyud nga science fiction films will involve things that are not yet thought up of.
The fact remains that, comparing Deep Impact ug Armageddon, like Visual C# said, mas accurate ang Deep Impact, in terms of the reaction of people to the event, the solutions planned by the characters etc. Both movies contain inaccuracies, but at least Deep Impact had much better research into the phenomenon and thus was more believable than Armageddon.

For me, movies should be inspiring, fiction or not. It should inspire the young and young at heart, to become scientist, engineers, businessmen, lawyers, soldiers, environmentalist, astronauts etc. Case is Avatar, it may not be a so a realistic movie, but at least, it gives a message to the people to take care of our beloved earth.
Can anyone name me a famous science fiction novel or movie (or novel made into a movie) that occurs in the present time (i.e. 2009/2010), NOT in the future?

Dan Brown is NOT a science fiction author. He is categorized under the "Thriller" genre:

Scroll down to "Religious Thriller" and guess who is the representative author there?

The mere fact that you mention Dan Brown in this thread points directly to the fact that most people don't even know what the science fiction genre is all about.
