Albay gov joins Aquino, shocks Arroyo party - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos

Masbate Gov. Elisa Olga Kho, who learned about Salceda’s defection on Wednesday from the Inquirer in Naga City, said: “All the while we thought we were allies. I am shocked. I am hurt.”

Kho said that before his defection, Salceda was still urging the remaining Bicol governors backing the administration standard-bearer, Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro, to unite.

“All the while, I was thinking that Joey, I and [Sorsogon Gov.] Sally Lee were the remaining allies of Gibo in Bicol. Now it’s only two of us,” she said.

    Word of honor

It was Salceda who called an emergency caucus of administration governors at Discovery Suites in Pasig City on April 6, purportedly to conduct a loyalty check following the defection of Lakas-Kampi-CMD’s top two leaders.

On that day, he and more than 30 governors signed a manifesto to “work hard for overwhelming electoral majorities” for Teodoro, and organized themselves into the National Caucus of Governors.

One very important, if not central facet of a healthy democracy is a strong opposition. If like you say "include your enemies" you mean "include the opposition" then there is no opposition. Let's abolish democracy and set up one-party rule. Democracy is an overrated illusion that has turned this country into the joke of Asia anyway...
Did I say "make friends" with enemies? I said... give equal opportunities... as in defend the rights even those of ur enemies ba..... got it? Enemies can be defined loosely as political enemies or rival factions with different beliefs//

Loyalty sa LP and principles sa LP is to the Filipino people. As Mar said it.... ang taong bayan ang boss namin"

My dear raski... dont try to make a big issue and use word play to lecture me about "the problem with us pinoys bit" because Im not even going to go there....

Joey Salceda is the chief economic adviser ni Arroyo... so if napa bilib ka sa economic performance under PGMAs term... its all thanks to this guy... so you better hear what he has to say cos he knows what hes talking about.

Aquino administrations promise is to rid the government of corruption. Lahi imong understanding sa leadership role and role sa presidential management team. You dont expect the president to handle everything. He has to delegate it to key people. Mao ni ang crucial part... he has to choose not only the best and brightest... but also those with integrity and willingness to serve the people before themselves.
Oh, sa email diay ni Joey Salceda himself. And how exactly did he quantify that a Noynoy presidency can bring about economic prosperity as compared to a Villar presidency or Gibo presidency or Gordon presidency? Rid the government of corruption? How sure are we that Gov. Salceda himself is not corrupt? Integrity and willingness to serve the people? How do you measure that now? Everyone who allied himself with Noynoy? Ma-o ra?

I don't expect the president to handle everything, but I also don't expect that PGMA would delegate everything regarding the economy to the governor of Albay. So how do the other secretaries and the Central Bank governor compare to this guy? Kani na lang gyud siya ang hawod kay ni balimbing sa LP? And I do expect PGMA to control her economic policies as that's her forte, not delegate everything to one of her former students who did not make his own province prosperous. Mas maayo pa man siguro si Lito Osmena ani niya, kay wa man ko kadungog nga hing maayo gyud na kaayo ang economy sa Albay.
