Ok guys, I give in--bring on the inaccuracies.

Just to add to YJOB's post.
1. This thread is completely on topic. The impact of science on the masses is COMPLETELY on topic. The involvement of science in education and entertainment is COMPLETELY on topic. However posts such as "OT: o tuara o naa nay mod o...wa na delete na ni bye bye thread na... " are completely off-topic to this thread. The poster even had the audacity to prefix it with OT as if it was ok ... to do it twice.
2. On an aside, the said poster who thought it would be OK to run around calling this topic OT while not looking at his posts also thought he got banned because of his two OT posts. Let's get things straight, you, yes you, I know you are going to look at this thread again. YOU ALREADY HAD FOUR INFRACTIONS. You got two infractions for your two off-topic posts. 4 + 2 = 6 = mute. If you cherished the seniority of your account, then you' accept your your infractions, wait for them to expire, and come back. If you don't and continue to mouth off, you'll never get it back.

Looks like someone just invited trouble.
Have you been a teacher/instructor in college? I have. I have experienced it first hand, what's it like to wince whenever a student says "But that's what happened in so-so movie." It's easy to excuse comments made by people from abroad, because the educational standards in their schools are much higher than in our country.
Listen to this, I know of schools around Lake Lanao in Mindanao, where teachers lock up their high school students the ENTIRE effing day (yes, LITERALLY, with gigantic YALE padlocks), while they go down to the city to attend to their small businesses. My students related this to me in person, when I asked one day about what they learned in high school. Then eventually, these same students enroll (mysteriously enough they pass the college entrance tests!) in college, and their ONLY source of "science education" at times are mass media/movies, spread out by "pirated DVD-hans" and the local media. And once they get to this state, it's very very difficult to change these kids' viewpoints--it's like trying to convert an elderly person to convert from one religion to another--it's just nearly impossible. But let me tell you, these students are NOT dumb!--they just didn't have the opportunity to know what is right.
I used the Lanao example, but who knows what's happening around the Philippine countryside elementary schools and high schools?
But then who cares right? It's only our youth...it's only our country.
