If you passed the board exam, then you will get a low paying job even if you will get a high average in board exam. Every 3 years you PRC license will expire but its difficult for you to renew because your salary is just enough. Now, the PRC will require you to have at least 60 units of seminar, you have to pay again. One seminar is 20 units which cost 6000 pesos.
Tell me which is much better, being an engineer or a programmer?
bro mopalag jud kaau ko sa imong gpanulti...Makaduda man sad kung EE bka or di....kay bout huna hunaon lau raman kaau nang IT sa Engr.!!!!! og usa pa sad, klaro kaau nga wa jud ka naning kamot as a EE. Kay kung kahibaw ka maningkamotkahibaw jud ka kung unsa nang EE!!! brad sorry to offend u...duda nako gus2 ka og dako nga suweldo daun...to think u need to gain exp first before ka mo ask og greater salary...og for sure imong gi compare imong self sa IT nga to think. Ingon ana man jud na ang engr ng sugod.. but kung sakto naka sa pako..pwede nka mka demand kung pila imo gus2....By the way brad advise lang..Concentrate on your line..stop comparing urself!!!learn to have patience, be contented on what u have and lastly (paningkamot sa imong field)!!!

I am also a Electrical Engr.

pataka lang ka part wala may seminar ana...nya dili na kinahanglan 20 units para marenew imong lesinsya. last 2008 nag re-new ko sa akong lesinsya mga 1,250 php ra akong bayad nya 5 years na expire akong lesinsya...."Im an electrical engineer" sure ka part electrical engineer ka? kani man gud new grads dili man gyud ta ka expect nga dako dayon atong suweldo sugod gyud ta sa gamay kung motaas na pud imong experience motaas na pud imong suweldo....maau nimo buhaton diha pag experience sa dha sa ato unya abroad dayon.....from sg...oil and gas /offshore electrical designer...
Part, try lang visit sa IIEE website. Kaila ka og CPE part? kinahanlan na nimo i complete ang at least 60 units sa imo CPE para ka mka renew, this is efective January 2010. Basaha imo RA 7920. Mag renew na unta ko this year and mao ako nabal.an na ingana na diay. Louy man pud kato mga engr. na gagmay og rate or kato mga engr. na naa sa work na wala time na mag attend og seminars and trainings. Part, kabalo ba ka na for you to gain units sa CPE you have to attend seminars and trainings? if wala basa lang blik sa RA 7920. And all i know 1 seminar with 20 units na cost more or less 5000 pesos. Na disappointed lang ko kay instead ila to i impose na every building na may dagko na nga load dapat may Licensed engineer until now kay daghan gihapon nag operate na dili license ra ang gi appoint or mga electrician lang. And why not they will hunt down katong mga nag mal practice sa atong profession, sige pag pangontrata? or why not tagaan nila og bracket minimum na salary dapat ihatag sa mga engineer bisan fresh grad nga nakapasar para pud makaya magbayad sa seminar and makarenew sa license. And many companies kron modawat ra og dili license which is unfair for us. Mura na og nawala na og importansiya ang atong pagka license?tell me...And about going abroad, if only makahatag sila og enough salary then dili nata kinahanglan mag abroad.

Anyway, Ill have to stop this. I love my profession. Engineers do earn enough. Just have to work harder and study harder to become a PEE. All PEE are successful, and they also earn enough or more than enough. Being an enginner is really a great challenge for us. Because of this we continue to live and grow. This always a room for learning in this kind of profession that is why we are not bored. This is a long term profession.

murag ka sabot ko sa imo point bro da...pero suggest ko nga imong mga likes kay mo fall sa pagka Computer Engineer(CompE).. Btw i am a CompE student in USC-TC and i find it not so easy to deal with this subject and also to deal with USC mentors haha nag ka daghan sad ang mga gahi dd2 heheh.. Ang CompE man gud bro kay somewhat related to what you mension (Electrical Engineer and Software Engineer) since naka agi naman gyud ko ani bro both of what you mension kay maka encounter gyud ka ani nga corse kay ang COMPE naay mga electronics side pero not as deep as EE and at the same time naa sd programming ang COMPE and not as husler as IT/COMP sci people pero at least you got what you like dba? just my cents..
